[ he's just going to help isabel up and kind of pocket his dagger and keep this sword. sure. we can attempt to head to the second floor? he really is just walking away from this mess because he did not cause it.
though he does stop and he looks over isabel's wounds. ]
Should probably figure out how to stop more of your blood from getting everywhere anyway. [ though he is also curiously looking back at the original roulette tables to see if he can spot the tingtang boss from here. ]
[ I don't know how you're doing it but I thought it would be funny to roll to get convinced and somehow, he's getting convinced. The guard makes a gesture that suggests his fellow men should step down for a moment, though he's still looking at Charles warily. ]
Casino Security
This will be reported to your boss.
The Tingtang Gang will have restricted access on this floor from hereon until further notice.
[ You just ruined the Tingtang Gang's ability to freely gamble on the first floor and for what reason. Shoma can look over and see the Tingtang boss definitely got their attention with the Everything that was happening a while ago, but this news is such a shock to him. ]
Tingtang Boss(?)
The fuck you did?! Beg for forgiveness, ya stupid eggs, and maybe I'll let ya leave with all your limbs in tow!
[ Well. I guess. Technically speaking there is nothing stopping you from going to the second floor but now you've got an angry man in a Hawaiian shirt unsheathing a dagger and fast-walking over, throwing his chips to the floor and at least one henchman in tow.
The casino security will get involved with Abnormality-related affairs, but they take a clear step back where intergang scuffles are concerned. Everything happens so much.
In the background, Effie returns from evacuating a few civilians to safety with a dead expression. Saude looks like she's on the brink of tears. She can't intervene with this but you can see her pulling out a smoke bomb and making a gesture, holding three fingers up, and then just one... two... ]
[ fucking excuse me is his hawaiian shirt at least different from the other hawaiian shirts because we have been STRUGGLING about copying his outfit for two days
but sure, lovelace will let shoma help her up. can she also take the sword from him while they wait for this smokebomb to get thrown? will he let her do that. just wondering. for reasons. ]
[ he said the boss was at the roulette wheel but nobody listened :pensive: anyway yeah he lets her have the sword because he's actually still annoyed so whatever, take the stupid thing.
also he is not going to apologize and instead is ready to bail once the smoke bomb is dropped, actually, shifting on his feet a little. ]
You'll apologise with your foreheads on my boot!
After you take a shower, you stink --
[ Saude rolls that smoke bomb and it explodes, unleashing a hefty cloud of acrid-smelling smoke. Hoo boy! No wonder it was so cheap, it does not smell good at all.
The nice thing is that it's definitely enough of a distraction for the squad to flee somewhere, possibly the second floor if you so desire, leaving the coughing of casino security and bean-hating Tingtangers behind. Or literally anywhere else, the world is your oyster. Back to the bathroom to do Christmas Part 2, even. ]
[ nice. sword. it is so tempting to try and kill the boss but i suppose we would not be able to act as a representative of this gang that everyone has heard just died.
so alas, without any attempted murder, let's flee to floor 2. and just leave all of this behind. i'm sure things will go better up there. ]
[ Welcome... to the second floor! The music also goes hard here in a different way. My image ref doesn't want to laod at the moment so I'll grab it later, but the second floor is more casino games, but it also kind of has a musical stage energy. For reasons you'll learn soon.
Anyway. I would like to remind the crowd that 1. Two of you are in very bloody Tingtang uniforms, and 2. Isabel is still bleeding profusely from the abdomen. You are losing blood, madam.
Though you may or may not forget that in favour of the fun music, and the fact that there are very much people in mariachi hats around here. I don't know how or why I end up talking about Los Mariachis three weeks in a row in this game but this is my lot in life.
Behind you, you see the smoke still spreading, and if you squint, you can see Saude and Effie sprinting to the staff room to try and recoup this.
I'll give you a moment to gather yourselves and figure out Isabel, or general course of action, or just look around, or w/e. ]
instead of focusing on the fact that she is bleeding out, lovelace will focus on observing her surroundings in more detail. kind of still looking for stealable clothes. ideally something boss-like, but at this point anything not bloody would do... so is anyone standing isolated near a fucking broom closet or something? ]
[do we still have strips of cloth from when charles was dying??? they are not a great option but all of our other clothes are covered in blood anyway so can we use those to bandage isabel up a little at least???]
i am. extremely sorry about this. but between how this started and now isabel truly just ignoring what he said about getting her to stop bleeding he is just. deadeyeing and walking the fuck away to let charles deal with this. whatever. so while charles is trying to be reasonable he really is just going to fuck off and go start exploring. also unless lowe tells us otherwise i assume any extra cloths from when charles was dying got shoved into shoma's pockets so he will at least lob those his way before deciding to scope out the area. what points of interest exist? also, like, what the fuck are these los mariachis guys doing? ]
The only outfits you can see around here are either civilian outfits, or it's these guys. Possibly with sombreros. They are wielding somewhat comically oversized maracas like they're weapons, and that is a promise.
You can have the cloth scraps Shoma took from the pawnbroker's store. It's probably old pieces from an old kimono. They can now be covered with Isabel blood.
As Shoma walks off, you will witness a man at a table a bit further away from the stairs lose a draw, his face going ghastly pale, throwing his face in his hands and letting out a scream of agony.
'NOT AGAIN! I lost again! Fuck, damn, shit! When will this end?!'
The man is in absolute grief, and his vibes are honestly kind of rank. This is man on a horrendous losing streak, and if he had his own emotion bar UI, it would be at triple NE. Helpfully, one of the gang members comes over with an artful shake of his instruments.
'Dear Customer, I hope you haven’t forgotten our rule, have you? If you keep dampening the mood of the table, we might throw a pañata party out of you.'
His tone is casual and friendly, beautifully upbeat.
'I-I don't have any more money...'
Naught to worry. The Mariachi Alegre gives off the aura of gentle intimidation, because he has no choice. Play silly gambles, win silly punishments. The weeping guest is forcibly made to stand up from their seat and guided over to an opening. Where he is handed a pair of maracas from the staff. The music gets a little bit louder, and they all look at the losing man expectantly.
Then he begins dancing, sobbing his whole heart out the entire time.
Oh yeah, there's stairs that lead higher but it does seem like there's still guards milling about. Just of this new variety, rather than the weird not-film-noir variety on 1F. And also a darker table near the back with a purple light overhead that seems somehow extra-special, with a lanky person sitting at the cards table with their feet put up, spinning a maraca in their hand. It seems to be the VIP section. You can't see any of their faces because they've got big brim hats, but that particular person seems to be entertained at the weird punishment dance display going on, taking a sip of their drink. ]
Don't go too far. [ to shoma. just ignoring that he is clearly annoyed. it's fine.
and she will begrudgingly let charles help her uh. idk bandage up her injuries with these cloth scraps i guess. ]
Think we can just head up another floor? [ PROBABLY NOT but she is so concerned that if they linger here charles is going to try to defend that dancing man's honor. ]
[STOP HOW DARE YOU have this valid concern about how much of a busybody charles is but thankfully he just finds the whole dancing man thing more baffling than concerning]
Not too sure I want to leave Shoma alone—especially considering what just happened when one of us wandered off, y'see.
[THEY GO INTO A WASHROOM AND EXPLODE!!! but he will keep an eye on shoma as well as he helps isabel.]
[ he isn't going out of eyesight really but he is making rounds, even if there is a full-body twitch when the man starts dancing. hm. no. that's enough of that. sorry for your embarrassment, dude.
the vip section gets his interest though. how many people are surrounding what may be the boss? can he get a sense of any commentary they may be making? also is the maraca really just a giant maraca? ]
Edited (you can tell i wrote this on mobile walking the dog actually ) 2024-03-12 20:52 (UTC)
[ The man continues to dance while crying. At least the gang here seems to like. Actually enjoy it question mark? Rather than seeming to get a kick out of his embarrassment, they actually seem to genuinely enjoy the performance in of itself.
The VIP section has the person with a big shot energy, and two other lackeys. They're not talking about anything important, probably just making casual observations on how games are going on the floor, something about profits. You can't really name what it is but something about the big shot's silhouette feels familiar? ]
[ he cannot hear any of this, but he is going to try to also figure out what about the big shot's silhouette is familiar? are they distracted enough by the dancing that he can kind of use the light from the vip section to peer under the brim of their hat from where he's standing a bit away... ]
[ Isabel, local queen of trying to get stuff done even when she's gravely injured.
Well the hat brim is pulled down enough that unless Shoma gets down on the floor like a weird person, he isn't going to see their face. But you can tell its a guy, and he has a bit of facial hair, and a nonchalant smile, his foot idly moving to the beat of the music. Even lounging the way he is, he's a preeetty dang tall guy.
Stick around though and the group'll start getting stared at by the goons loitering around, especially as the sad guy's performance reaches its finale. They're genuinely congratulating him on such a emotional performance. ]
[ YEAH CLEARLY. anyway she truly just thinks she'll be fine no matter how hurt she gets. what are the guards nearest the stairs paying attention to? everything? dancing guy? us suspicious freaks? ]
[but if they're attracting too much attention, he'll casually wander away from the vip section and look like he's really into the dancing guy's finishing performance.]
