welcome, DESIGNATIONS.

On MONDAY afternoon, some hours after landing on Acquada, then the new amenities to the ship, our super secret living designations will receive a message from Senior Crew. There is a silent ping, so as not to give away anything to those they might be around.

We have decided to combine our meetings together this week and we have objectives we would like to accomplish. They may seem lofty, but with joined efforts we seek to make progress this week.

Sr. Crew

They have seen the command room before in passing. It's the room where the senior crew often check all sort of stuff from metrics, diagnostics, navigation, supply, inventory... You get the point. There are a number of terminals, all of which the current junior crew roles know they do not normally have access to.

There waits all eight senior officers, pensive and tense.

Roles are free to use this post across the IC week.

TL;DR

This is a communal role meeting with new objectives for the eight roles. While not every role will have a specialized task, roles are free to group up on tasks to better processes and increase success rate! Roles may collaborate to test methods or run trials in this post.

The NPCs have posed that immediately they'd like to focus on:

🚀 Preventing murder and death this week.
🚀 Devise a plan to return the dead and implement it. We can pose Friday possibly as being the day to organize with the public if IC help is wanted/needed!

NPCs are interested in other related topics such as the origin of pink haze, CEM waves, etc. and are open to performing investigations or tasks to better understand the situation on the Eudora.

This makes sense. It's just a transfer from one vessel to another.

Yeah, importantly, as long as we have something to hold their souls to bring to their bodies, we're good.

... Then there's opening a rift to reach them.

Not only opening the rift, but making sure to keep the rift open long enough to escort all of them out safely. If the rift collapses before then...what's the point?

Yeah... The two-way door is necessary. Fortunately, we have the tesseract, but the dead will need to figure out on their side what they can use as an energy source.

Is there anything like a tesseract we can try to find? Or even a way to siphon the power of the tesseract into two parts to create two sources?

I'm sure there are plenty of mad scientists in the universes who have thought to extract energy from a different dimension beyond their comprehension and somehow survived. Those are not at our disposal.

We have one available to use and splitting it is possible... But it may mean the rift we create is smaller, open for less time, or can only allow a few or even one for passage.

... Then there is watching you all haphazardly throw it into the garbage.

They might have something already, but they need to know first that they should be considering what it is. Otherwise, we can split what we have.

...well we wouldn't have to haphazardly throw it in there. [ damn give them some credit. ] If possible, we could try to split the power to make the rifts stable long enough for one person. Send in several small vessels that one person can carry in order to bind their souls to them and give that one person time to get back out. Hard to lose them if one person's responsible, isn't it?

Though if they have something similar I don't even know how to ask without them getting censored or the timing being off.

Then you're considering tossing them a beacon and another core, hoping it'll deliver successfully. A person crossing back and forth should not be a problem if that's the method we wish to use, but the dead do need to open a portal on their half.

You think it would become censored when it's information you have available here? It seems to me that whatever it is only wishes to silence the other side.

Think it's worth asking them if they have something they can use as a core on their own. The impression I got is they have ... stuff, but it will need to be made.

...I think the problem is getting an answer from them if they have something that can act as an energy source the same way the tesseract acts for us. It's not likely that it'll get through the filters if we ask them to tell us.

A yes or no should suffice. Or whatever those things Amalthea was so interested in would work.

We don't need to know what it is. We only need to know they have one.

It is. To think, we had to - what was it that Thebe said? We had to "speedrun" our technological knowledge, and here he is, not using his to his full potential.

[ yelan is a genshin, not a honkai, so she was right there with amalthea learning how the fuck emojis let alone space tech worked. ]
