ROLE — OCTO MEETING

ALL ROLES ON DECK
welcome, DESIGNATIONS.
On MONDAY afternoon, some hours after landing on Acquada, then the new amenities to the ship, our super secret living designations will receive a message from Senior Crew. There is a silent ping, so as not to give away anything to those they might be around.
We have decided to combine our meetings together this week and we have objectives we would like to accomplish. They may seem lofty, but with joined efforts we seek to make progress this week.
Sr. Crew
They have seen the command room before in passing. It's the room where the senior crew often check all sort of stuff from metrics, diagnostics, navigation, supply, inventory... You get the point. There are a number of terminals, all of which the current junior crew roles know they do not normally have access to.

There waits all eight senior officers, pensive and tense.

Roles are free to use this post across the IC week.

TL;DR
This is a communal role meeting with new objectives for the eight roles. While not every role will have a specialized task, roles are free to group up on tasks to better processes and increase success rate! Roles may collaborate to test methods or run trials in this post.

The NPCs have posed that immediately they'd like to focus on:

🚀 Preventing murder and death this week.
🚀 Devise a plan to return the dead and implement it. We can pose Friday possibly as being the day to organize with the public if IC help is wanted/needed!

DEADLINE IS BEFORE THURSDAY CURFEW. Submit here.

NPCs are interested in other related topics such as the origin of pink haze, CEM waves, etc. and are open to performing investigations or tasks to better understand the situation on the Eudora.

[ Holds out a crystal paw, coughing a little that he covers with his other hand. ]

Vessels? ...Ah, you refer to something like the ones from my memory?
solesuccess: (It's alright)

[personal profile] solesuccess 2024-04-08 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Sort of. [ he thinks on this but also he's just taking paw. why? because he can. ] It was in a report I saw...about a method of carrying a soul in a vessel back to its body if it can't make its way to the living on its own. That's something familiar to you though, isn't it?

[ He can and will, holding paws now. He's nodding along to this. ]

It is. To give a bigger picture, back in my own shard I summoned forth those from another "world" as you put it. However, I brought forward only their souls, leaving their bodies behind. [ A pause. ] Well, to cut down from a long story to short, I constructed the means to create a vessel that can safely put a soul's memories in it. Allowing an easy ferry to return them back to their body.
solesuccess: (Use it)

[personal profile] solesuccess 2024-04-08 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That's...what I saw from your memory, right? Something like that. [ he faintly remembers the memory talk and pulling and rearranging things. ] How were you able to bring their bodies over after that? Were the vessels safe for the souls?
caretake: game. (pic#13538332)

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That it is. [ Week 3 was so long ago... ] A hero was capable of traversing between the two worlds, so the idea was to ferry the vessels across safely and return their souls to their respective body. The vessels were secured and safe though, as I tested using my own memory to ensure their integrity.

[ Taps at his chin with a furrowed look. ] However, the methods I used there were the usage of my own blood and the Crystal Tower. We would have to try and work with what we have here if we want to consider a method like that.
solesuccess: (In the bottom half of the hourglass)

[personal profile] solesuccess 2024-04-08 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
...and what we have here is our own blood and an oversized garbage disposal. [ hum. ] Though there are places that seem to be connecting to the other side. Like the church. It'd be about finding a way to store their souls into one thing, and returning them to their bodies that're in the stasis bay. Right?
caretake: (pic#16946147)

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not sure that alone will suffice enough. [ A hint of amusement. ]

If we can find a means to store their souls from the other side, we could more than safely return them to their bodies in stasis bay yes. But we could try to see what other methods we may be able to find.
solesuccess: (We could be immortals)

[personal profile] solesuccess 2024-04-08 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm...but it's possible to consider, right? [ invisible tail wag. ] Like. Not ruling it out yet.

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely not ruling it out, my friend.

solesuccess: ('Cause we could be immortals)

[personal profile] solesuccess 2024-04-08 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[ yay. ]

Maybe everybody else will come up with a good idea for a vessel we can drop off and we can figure out a way to make the transfer happen then.

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It is certainly worth trying. If you come up with any ideas, feel free to bring them to me.
solesuccess: (Switch - update it)

[ gentle paw squeezie. ]

You'll be the first one I come to. [ sorry for inevitable rats. ]

[ paw squeeze!

it's fine. it somehow always ends up being rats.

How does that kind of thing work anyway? Is there some kind of material that works best for souls, or...? Do we need DNA of the dead?
caretake: game. (★ the eternal winds throughout)

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the way I managed it back home is I used material made from my Crystal Tower, a structure capable of time travel and summoning... So the vessels I made for that was of that crystal and my own blood crystalized. Important components given the magicks and means of how I prepared them.

[ More pondering. ] I'm not too sure what would best benefit here. Had my own abilities I could possibly construct something similarly but... [ Well, they have the technology here to work with. ]

[personal profile] roseoftexas 2024-04-08 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[ his eyes glaze over at the mention of magicks. ]

...

Would we be able to collect blood from the bodies in the pods?

[ DO THEY. HAVE BLOOD STILL? this feels so rude. ]

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
...I am sure it's possible but.

[ IT DOES FEEL RUDE? ] Let us see if it is possible without. Keep a pin on it.
roseoftexas: (22)

[personal profile] roseoftexas 2024-04-08 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[ it does but also i feel shu is already over it if they knew it would work. ]

Any other suggestions? Sounds like we need something to identify the vessel as theirs.

[personal profile] caretake 2024-04-08 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[ that's fair ]

The vessels I made back home didn't necessarily need an identifier. But, if what we have to work with here do, then we will consider it.

[ ah. ]

Good to know. It'd just be a case of finding 18 vessels that would do the trick.
