Life in this world is just about the same as it is on modern day Earth, with a few big exceptions: Superheroes and supervillains are a big thing around these parts. The police are useless. People with superpowers, known as metahumans, are exceedingly common. Magic is real. Villains operate in broad daylight, even paying taxes on their evil lairs when they aren't committing tax fraud, and only heroic vigilantes are willing to stop them.
Gotham, in particular, is ripe with corruption and crime. Life is rough if you're a civilian. The local vigilantes can only do so much.
But that's not an issue for anyone in this group. After all, you are all part of Gotham City's villains.
These are things that everyone here will know intuitively once they open their eyes to this interrogation room. Or, uh, four separate interrogation rooms, really.
Each one of them will find themselves alone in one of these rooms, handcuffed to a chair with a flickering light barely illuminating the room and a wobbly table in front of them. Though they feel like absolute shit, they will have vague memories of the events that led up to this moment: a crime they committed, the weird asshole dressed in a fursuit who stopped them, and the detective that just finished interrogating them for the better half of an hour before storming out of the room dramatically.
Their individual files were left on the table right in front of them. Their vision is kind of blurry but they can still see part of their file. Uh, kind of.
It's like there are four distinct symbols and sentences blurring and overlapping with each other. As they blink to clear their vision, the overlapping sentences begin to disappear until only one remains.
Now, which one is it?
[💪] You have enhanced strength, above average stamina and accelerated healing. When you hit that buff juice real good, you become even stronger. Unfortunately, you also lose your ability to listen to common sense and make good life decisions. This is your brain... This is drugs... This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?
[🎭] You are a skilled actor and a shapeshifter who can become anyone and anything. You are also made out of literal clay and can easily reabsorb any bits and pieces of yourself that you may have lost by simply touching them. Yes, even your body fluids. Who needs toilet paper when your leg can just SCHLURP up all that clay pee. Clee? Clee. You consider this a fine and normal thing to do.
[🪁] You have delusions of grandeur and believe kites to be a real superpower. They are not. What should be considered a superpower, however, should be your ability to survive in Gotham despite the fact that you are just a guy dressed in green spandex with a giant kite strapped to your back. Hell yeah.
[🎪] You are a clown.
For the record, each option can only be selected once. You are all very special and unique, okay.]
Once again, intuitively, each member of this group will gain an instinctive knowledge of their role in this world. While they will retain their canon memories along with the memories of the time they have spent on the Eudora, those memories will seem less... important. Sometimes even fading in the background. In other words, you are all free to get as lost in the sAUce as you would like.
[🎭] Dion was once a stage actor who languished in obscurity. Desperate to make his big break, he began to look for ways to improve his performance... After a series of events that culminated in a catastrophic accident, he was doused in a mix of expired industrial make-up, clay and putty, which gave him superpowers instead of just killing him. Or, you know, giving him a really bad allergic reaction.
With his newfound ability to literally mold himself to any role, Dion began to gain fame as an extremely versatile actor. Unfortunately, the thing about superpowers is that you need years of practice to really master them. Tired from pulling all-nighters to rehearse his lines, Dion was unable to hold his form during a live stage performance and his lance slipped out of his hands, accidentally impaling the lead. Don't ask why the props were sharp enough to do that. This is Gotham City.
[🎪] Once upon a time, Lucien had one hell of a bad day. Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, he was chased down by a man in a fursuit after being accused of intentionally collapsing a building and killing his dearest friend. This chase led them to an abandoned factory filled with dangerous chemicals. There, he took a tumble off a catwalk and found himself plunging headfirst into a vat of acid — and not the type that gives you fun superpowers.
When he emerged, his skin was bleached pastel purple, his lips ruby red, and his hair was neon green. And to think, you were all making fun of Rodya in the green suit. After taking the Nestea plunge, Lucien also emerged with a looser grip on his sanity. He then went on to commit multiple crimes, including but not limited to: Political assassinations, grand theft, assault, battery, breaking and entering, grave robbing, and... tax fraud. The straw that broke the camel's back. Damn you, IRS.
[💪] Sidon was imprisoned for crimes his sister committed shortly before his birth. Unfortunately, his sister died and could not be prosecuted for her crimes, so the corrupt government of (looks at smudge on hand) Atlantis decided that his newborn ass should serve his sister's life sentence in her place. Growing up in prison, he was often told that his real crime was being a useless baby and not keeping his sister alive. Damn.
The older he got, however, the clearer it became that he was not your ordinary Atlantean. He was gifted with superstrength, stamina, and accelerated healing. One hit of Venom, a highly addictive drug, was all he needed to break his own ass out of prison and make his way to the surface world... Where he was promptly arrested again for overfishing. Damn.
[🪁] Rodyon was born to two wealthy industrialists who also happened to be metahumans. Her parents excitedly waited for the day she would gain powers of her own, but... that day never came. Or, at least, that's what they say. Rodyon knows better than that, though. Donning a green spandex suit, Rodyon eagerly explored her superpowered mastery over kites and all things kite adjacent. Hell yeah! Who cares if her parents are terribly ashamed of her?
One day, she abandoned her work wife in a cook-off and took her upgraded kite for a spin. Unfortunately a mechanical malfunction led to her losing altitude, and she promptly crashed into a pedestrian... A wealthy pawnbroker, whose neck snapped when he landed in an odd angle, killing him instantly. Oops.
For their crimes, Dion and Sidon have been sentenced to life in Blackgate. Yes, even just for the overfishing. As metahumans, they have been outfitted with sleek collars that neutralize their powers and deliver a powerful shock when tampered with.
For their crimes, Lucien and Rodyon have been sentenced to life in Arkham. He's a clown themed villain and she believes kites are a superpower. The judge was not about that.
