[It has been six months since both Lucien and Rodyon were sent to Arkham Asylum. In those six months, they have gotten to know each other.
And in those six months, they have also thought about how best to escape this very questionable mental institution. You know, as one does.
Right now, they are being escorted out of their individual cells so they can be taken to the mess hall. Today's menu is mystery meat with unknowable porridge. The guards escorting them don't say much, but they make sure to nudge them forward if they begin to lag behind — which is bound to happen, considering their wrists and ankles are chained together. Also, they are dressed in orange jumpsuits and have none of their personal inventory on hand.
At least the mess hall chocolate milk is pretty good.
[ shuffling .............. perhaps it took 6 months to plan an escape because he keeps getting extended solitary for trying to dye his jumpsuit black. he really can't add yet another color to this ensemble, it's really throwing off his look. ]
[ It took six months to escape because Rodion keeps asking whether she can get her spandex and kite back because she NEEDS both to access her superpowers and she keeps getting her request denied. This sucks. ]

I think so, rich people always like sitting around in high places. I think it feeds their ego to look down on others or something.
[ She sticks a spoon in her porridge. Is it green? Maybe she can just eat enkephalin while she's here, it's also green. She's been here for six months surely she isn't that bothered by mystery meat anymore so yeah she'll just have some porridge while she glances over to the guards. ]
[The Director's Office would be on the upper floors. Whatever personal belongings weren't straight up destroyed or confiscated by the police would likely be somewhere in the same general area.
The porridge is white. It's thick enough that her spoon initially tries to sit on top of it instead of sinking.
The guards give them the stink eye, but one of them approaches with a hand on their stun batons. A clear threat.]
My companion and I are exercising our rights as citizens of Arkham to speak to the Director. We have some complaints to lodge about the food situation.
[ She waves her spoon at him like look at this! If it's thick enough that she can't get her utensils through can she tilt it and show how the sauce ain't even pouring. Dare say, she misses her work wife's terrible cooking. Gregor... your canned foods.
She flicks her spoon, perhaps flicking some white porridge onto the table. ]
[She can get her utensil through, but it's definitely thick enough that the spoon doesn't naturally sink into it. She can flick her spoon, tilt the bowl, or both if she desires. Both will end with some of the stuff hitting the table with a splat. Bits and pieces land on Lucien and Rodion's clothes, too.

they immediately get throttled by like 5 guards while the other inmates whoop, cheer, and start tossing their food around. one guy dumps his bowl of porridge on his bald head and starts burping the alphabet.]
This CYOA removed the one thing limiting her which was that normally she's pretty good at being a sane person. But this CYOA decreed her insane so she's actually having a pretty good time.
She'll totally straight up headbutt one of these guards with all she's got and then chirp out for the mess hall: ]
[Lucien's kick rattles the table, but it doesn't flip it over. Unfortunately, the tables are all bolted to the ground. Lame.
Rodion has better luck headbutting the guard, who totally fails to dodge after rolling a 4. Blood spurts from the guard's broken nose, dribbling down their chin.
An emaciated man, one of their fellow inmates, roars, climbs on his table, and tears off the top half of his jumpsuit before chucking his porridge at one of the guards currently restraining Lucien. Isn't this the guy who got arrested for biting people...? He then trips and eats shit but it's fine. His bowl of porridge hits the guard right on the face, causing them to loosen their grip on Lucien.
There are now bowls of porridge and chunks of mystery meat soaring through the air. This is going to be a nightmare to wash out of your hair.]
[ this is such slander lucien was the one who started the biting and now even in a dream world viktor can't escape it. anyway he is ignoring everything else happening to watch Rodya headbutt a guy because COME ON that's incredible. he'll do his damndest to wriggle free of the guards, taking his tray and keeping it under one arm.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, and in her vague memories of the Eudora which feel so insignificant and far away, she's fairly sure Viktor was not like this and this is probably character slander, but then she remembers that according to the schedule, she has until Wednesday to fully develop her brain, so this is fine. Go Vikky!
Over here though, she's going to grab Lucien by the wrist and help pull him up as she wriggles free of the guard's grasp who now is dealing with a bleeding nose. Sorry! And then she's gonna run for the door, yoinking trays off the tables to leave debris behind them. ]

Anyway, it's bold of Lowe to imply that that being canon familiar would help you understand the layout for this place. The layout changes based on what is plot convenient? Even the type of cells they have change from one episode to another in the HQ show, help me.
They will know, based on past experience, that they are currently on the first floor. Going down the hallway to their left will lead them to cellblock A, and past that, after taking a few turns, a couple of security checkpoints, the reception hall, and the exit. To their right, they can find cellblock B, more security checkpoints, but also a lift that they could potentially use to get to the upper floors. The only issue is that the lift requires an employee keycard to be operated.
The five guards they left behind in the mess hall try to chase after them. Two of them get tackled by the now rioting inmates, but the three of them that rolled over 15 (20, 19 and 18 oofa doofa) manage to get past the other inmates, over the trays, slippery porridge floor and knocked over chairs, chasing after them as Lucien and Rodion run for the hallway. The ones who rolled a nat fucking 20 and the one who rolled a 19 lunge for them, trying to tackle and subdue them. Lucien in particular is going to get football tackled by Mr. Nat 20 himself. Good luck.]

no well I imagine he is absolutely fucking going down. complete ass over teakettle in the hallway here and probably this pops something nasty in his back. but he did take his tray with him so once the ringing in his ears fades some he'll try the simultaneous "knee them in the crotch and whack them in the head with the tray" combo. get off!!!!!!!! ]
[ We honour a 19 in this house too. She didn't bring a weapon with her but she has the size advantage and can throw hands and is also crazy here so? The good news is that, with their combined efforts (and some really shitty rolls on some of the guards' parts), Lucien and Rodion manage to knock out two of the guards! The metal lunch tray has a nice dent in the shape of Mr. Nat 20's head. As for Mr. 19, he gets judo thrown so hard that he's left wheezing on the floor.
The bad news is that the remaining guard rolled a 19 and they're hitting their panic button, yelling into their walkie talkie for backup. Alarms start to blare and red lights flash in the hallway.
