GR͏∀VE̴Y͞A̵ЯD 13 DECOMMISSIONED
t̀h̡e u͝nḑerbe̸l͞l̵y ̸o͜f th̴è ̡şh̷i͠p.
Crushing pressure is the initial sensation you can recall upon awakening. The stench of fetid, hot steam fills your nose, motes of dust and dirt floating upwards to cling to your skin. Down you are pulled to the cold ground, and all at once you realize you have forgotten to breathe. As you gasp back to life, you are flung onto a pile of scraps and trash, as the enormous machine that spat you out grumbles a little, and then goes silent. You are whole somehow, alive... but at what cost?
Popping out of the grinder, you look yourself over and find that any injuries you may have incurred during your death will be healed. While the scars that remain from the process will serve as a stark reminder, you will be able to get up on your own two feet without issue.
Thin, tapering metal (?) claws unhook from overhead and lower themselves, proceeding to guide you around. Your clothing starts sticking uncomfortably to your skin in the humidity of this strange, new place. Overhead you can hear the tinny humming of flickering lights overhead, arranged in a singular, thin strip and snaking around the serpentine halls. Along exposed pipes, wires, and the walls, a rust-colored substance creeps in web-like patterns, climbing towards the ceiling lights.
The deep grinding and groaning of the ship begin to meld into one low, deep moan from all around. It dips and rises in pitch, and becomes sickening to listen to if you focus on it for too long. Maybe, it's the ship's way of saying Welcome, to the underbelly of the CSS Eudora, home of the decommissioned.

Some things to keep in mind, while amongst the dead:
💀 Mini-events will be posted on WEDNESDAY at 3 PM EST / 12 PM PST and 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST, and are due at the same time they are for the living. Any changes to the schedule will be announced in the graveyard channels.
💀 Weekly effects will still hit you here, in the belly of the ship. Mods will make sure to announce any special changes based on being the graveyard; otherwise, please assume everything is 1:1!
💀 While not perfect, there is a healing factor in place. It is extremely sluggish, uncomfortable, and does not negate the fact that you're injured and likely in pain. If the injury is too severe, you might wind up dying from it if left untreated. Again. If you have a pre-existing condition like an illness that has been exacerbated by factors beyond your control, you will find that for the time being these symptoms are at their most minor.
💀 That said, while double death is possible, you'll find yourself reviving after 4 hours fully healed, but feeling like complete garbage for the rest of the day. Message your mods if you find yourself getting killed while dead, though! There might be a special surprise involved.
💀 Your possessions, minus clothing besides what you're wearing now, can be found in the bunk pods and their storage. Yes, while it might not include clothes, it does include any Omegamart Promotional Items, Scrap purchases, home items, etc that you were in possession of. if you had a lot of things, the cubby might jam or have difficulty closing. Better organize. If you arrive on Saturday during trial, belongings will return at the end of trial.
💀 Communications, while you cannot text via I.R.I.S., you can still send messages through HER-MES. All other functions for I.R.I.S. are available along with direct data transfers. Dead can send private letters to the living! An inbox can be accessed from the family computer at the canteen. If you find it locked, it is because we are updating it.
💀 Living livestream is broadcasted on the TV screen in the canteen!
✔️ Upgraded Quality ✔️ Audio ✔️ Translit Captions that sometimes fuck up ✔️ Dramatic panning ❌ Color
💀 Planet locations are free to use! Upon the Eudora landing planetside, you will find that as you meander through the various parts of the Belly you may run into one of locations of the current planet instead of where you were meaning to go. These locations are indeed still populated, but the people are more like wisps and will not react much to any conversation. Though you can interact with stuff there you cannot take anything with you out of the location "rooms".

[ They don't seem to know anything about this spar. ]
I am the original though?!

There's a flicker of emotion along the lines of "yeah see I fucking knew I was right not to trust them despite everyone going oh they seem so sincere"
But he does not say that because he doesn't really have a reason to trust this person any more than he trusted the senior crew, yet, aside from the fact that they all seem to be stuck in the trash together?! It's fine. Instead, he works through what they've said--if they don't have answers about where they all are, then it seems likely they didn't come here by choice, and probably? Didn't agree to have someone go impersonate them? Damn this is really turning into Blizzard Villa all over again]
Then, how long have you been on the ship? [...] This is a ship?
[In the tone of someone who still isn't totally convinced]
no subject
I think this is still the ship... It looks pretty spaceship-like to me, even though it looks like something straight out of a scary story. I've been part of Nut & Bolt for three months.
no subject
The same as the others, then. [Hmm.] And you remember joining the company, too? Unlike us.
no subject
[ Interesting. ]
Yeah, I do. I heard about you guys not remembering anything, which is really weird.
no subject
no subject
I think they would? We all worked on the last tour together and based on what I saw they're still similar, but again it could be an emergency reassignment when I just... Don't know. Exploded.
no subject
Grudgingly--]
It's true that mentioning an incident occurred wouldn't have been a good idea. [They absolutely would've panicked... they were already panicking... he's just salty that he never got to investigate and hack into the data logs and shit before he mcdied.] Especially if they're really trying to get everyone back home. They might've felt that telling us would've done more harm than good.
[He doesn't believe this because the last time he was stuck somewhere with somebody impersonating someone else it was because they were orchestrating an elaborate revenge murder plot. But CaIIisto doesn't need to hear about that.
...With a little less hostility--]
...You're certain you died?
no subject
They could also not know what happened to me, but I was missing. [ They shrug because they do not know themselves. ] I'm not certain, but you guys are here because you died, right? I didn't see it on-screen, but... I saw the announcement.
no subject
Anyway my poor meowmeow gets a rancid vibes blast very similar to the one Dahut got, but similarly, it's immediately locked away. 16 people already got to feel all his gnarly paranoia TB symptoms, they don't need to feel his stupid survivor's/no-longer-survivor's guilt and stuff too.]
I guess. [Blatantly changes the subject] What screen?
no subject
But they perk up despite those emotions staying. ]
Oh, let me show you!
[ They will lead Luke to the canteen. ]
no subject
Thanks. [He will follow!! And look around as they go... IS THERE """BIO-ORGANIC MATERIAL""" TO BE SEEN AROUND how creepy]

We have to cover his eyes!
[ Vash thinks Dahut from TV is a little weird, but that's still cruel. ]
no subject
But no despite knowing that Dahut is Android Adjacent and obviously doesn't care that much about his own MCMURDER, Luke is also like "maybe he shouldn't be watching this" help.
How is he in both places?]
...We can take a look around. It might be easier to find the way out, with more pairs of eyes to look. [His gazes lingers on the TV a little longer, and despite the tight grip on his feelings, a little blip of sadness and guilt slips through until he looks away, at Vash instead.] What's your name?
no subject
Anyway, Vash is holding his helmet under his arm while feeling oh so very sad over dissected Dahut. He is the saddest despite meeting the celebrity in person. The proposition distract him, though. ]
That sounds like a great idea! [ Vash had looked around, but more eyes are good. ] Usually, I'd say you can call me Callisto... But that's confusing, so the name's Vash.
no subject
Got it. [It's... not nice to meet him under these circumstances, but. He nods at him in acknowledgment anyway. If Vash has been watching them then he knows already, but just in case--] I'm Luke.
[It's way better to focus on other people than himself, and those sad vibes are very obvious, so he gestures for Vash to move away from the TV! LET'S GO ELSEWHERE... DAHUT IS FINE PROBABLY? Aki only plays weirdos, I'm sure something is deeply wrong in there.]
Do you happen to know why we can't get through to the others?
no subject
You mean via I.R.I.S.?
no subject
[Makes you answer me here instead of mod questions IS THERE ANYTHING INTERESTING IN THE CARGO CRATES BY THE GRINDER]
no subject
Your guess is as good as mine on that. I only have theories.
no subject
Do you mind sharing them with me? Anything's on the table right now.
no subject
The obvious one is that we're dead. Other one is that we're too far. Last is that we're disconnected from the network? Which might just be a combo with the second one.
no subject
Mm... I guess we weren't conscious for whatever happened on the way through the Grinder--although, if anything got damaged, I would expect less consistency and more errors throughout the other features. [Thinking...] Is it possible that someone installed a device to disrupt communication on purpose?
[He's only asking if it's possible because he doesn't know enough about nanites, otherwise he would suspect this much more obviously]
no subject
[ What could it be, but Vash tilts his head. ]
Oh! You mean like a jammer?
[ He gets you, Luke. ]
