GRAVEYARD...3!
GR͏∀VE̴Y͞A̵ЯD 18 DECOMMISSIONED
t̀h̡e u͝nḑerbe̸l͞l̵y ̸o͜f th̴è ̡şh̷i͠p.
Crushing pressure is the initial sensation you can recall upon awakening. The stench of fetid, hot steam fills your nose, motes of dust and dirt floating upwards to cling to your skin. Down you are pulled to the cold ground, and all at once you realize you have forgotten to breathe. As you gasp back to life, you are flung onto a pile of scraps and trash, as the enormous machine that spat you out grumbles a little, and then goes silent. You are whole somehow, alive... but at what cost?
Popping out of the grinder, you look yourself over and find that any injuries you may have incurred during your death will be healed. While the scars that remain from the process will serve as a stark reminder, you will be able to get up on your own two feet without issue.
Thin, tapering metal (?) claws unhook from overhead and lower themselves, proceeding to guide you around. Your clothing starts sticking uncomfortably to your skin in the humidity of this strange, new place. Overhead you can hear the tinny humming of flickering lights overhead, arranged in a singular, thin strip and snaking around the serpentine halls. Along exposed pipes, wires, and the walls, a rust-colored substance creeps in web-like patterns, climbing towards the ceiling lights.
The deep grinding and groaning of the ship begin to meld into one low, deep moan from all around. It dips and rises in pitch, and becomes sickening to listen to if you focus on it for too long. Maybe, it's the ship's way of saying Welcome, to the underbelly of the CSS Eudora, home of the decommissioned.

Some things to keep in mind, while amongst the dead:
💀 Mini-events will be posted on WEDNESDAY at 3 PM EST / 12 PM PST, and are due at the same time they are for the living. Any changes to the schedule will be announced in the graveyard channels.
💀 Weekly effects will still hit you here, in the belly of the ship. Mods will make sure to announce any special changes based on being the graveyard; otherwise, please assume everything is 1:1!
💀 While not perfect, there is a healing factor in place. It is extremely sluggish, uncomfortable, and does not negate the fact that you're injured and likely in pain. If the injury is too severe, you might wind up dying from it if left untreated. Again. If you have a pre-existing condition like an illness that has been exacerbated by factors beyond your control, you will find that for the time being these symptoms are at their most minor.
💀 That said, while double death is possible, you'll find yourself reviving after 4 hours fully healed, but feeling like complete garbage for the rest of the day. Message your mods if you find yourself getting killed while dead, though! There might be a special surprise involved.
💀 Your possessions, minus clothing besides what you're wearing now, can be found in the bunk pods and their storage. Yes, while it might not include clothes, it does include any Omegamart Promotional Items, Scrap purchases, home items, etc that you were in possession of. if you had a lot of things, the cubby might jam or have difficulty closing. Better organize. If you arrive on Saturday during trial, belongings will return at the end of trial.
💀 Communications, while you cannot text via I.R.I.S., you can still send messages through HER-MES. All other functions for I.R.I.S. are available along with direct data transfers. Dead can send private letters to the living! An inbox can be accessed from the family computer at the canteen. If you find it locked, it is because we are updating it.
💀 Living livestream is broadcasted on the TV screen in the canteen!
✔️ Upgraded Quality ✔️ Audio ✔️ Translit Captions that sometimes fuck up ✔️ Dramatic panning ✔️ Color
💀 Planet locations are free to use! Upon the Eudora landing planetside, you will find that as you meander through the various parts of the Belly you may run into one of locations of the current planet instead of where you were meaning to go. These locations are indeed still populated, but the people are more like wisps and will not react much to any conversation. Though you can interact with stuff there you cannot take anything with you out of the location "rooms".

👻 ghosties
[ the roster, for reference, is up on their computer. ]
First off, this document.
[ cw for suicide on this first one ]
Rhys Hayes. He was a dedicated relationship with Gavin Cleves. Given his injury... [ fin droop ] I believe he may have taken his own life...? He must've been devastated.
Then, there is Bryce Rowntree. He looks to have been poisoned. I wonder if it was foul play, or if it was the same as how Gavin died, where he consumed that strange flesh. If supplies were running low, as pointed out, it's possible.
Finally, this dark blonde haired man—I believe that is Kieran Chaffton. Vash, if you could take a look at confirm, since he worked with you. He appears to have been sent out the airlock—how awful?
-----
We have this new entry as well. It seems to be at the very end, with the storm. Amalthea must have written the first part.
In the first feed, there is Gloriana. The black-haired woman has appeared occasionally... but since Courtney had already died by this point, I believe this could be Ellya? She is in the same department as Gloriana. I believe the blonde-haired woman is Jade. The two women appeared together in a previous video.
Gloriana died certainly by being crushed. The other two were sent in this pod, as was, it seems, Ando Fisher in an earlier one.
The current senior staff appears to have been separated by debris from the rest of the crew—Jade seemed unaware of what happened to Callisto.
-----
Of the new documents, I believe the others are not so related to the fates of the crew? [ but please correct him and me if there's more ] I believe Viktor should remember everything that we've learned, but maybe we should also consider trying to show them our roster, if possible!

We're likely to see another ghost this week. [ like at 3pm est today ] Maybe after we do, and we can confirm their fate and attempt to send them what we have.

Perhaps it was with the flesh. Every attack caused by those influenced by anger have been largely violent. Poison doesn't seem to fit so well.
[True, there's the possibility it wasn't anger-related, but still, that's her opinion -- which may be incorrect because I may be misremembering something at some point, yup]

Vash may have been poisoned... but that note has been there a while now.
[ since before he arrived at the graveyard. he's going to pull vash over actually, pspspsps ]
Vash, two questions for you! [ showing him the footage of rowntree. he also apologies for making him watch more dead people stuff, sorry vash. ] You were there when Chief Cleves died. Does Chief Rowntree seem to have suffered the same fate?
Secondly... can you confirm this is Kieran?
no subject
[ ME SEEING QUESTOINS HERE SO I AM HERE TOO. He already responded about Rowntree, Kieran, and Oscar deaths, but. ]
I wasn't present in the brig when it happened, but... From what I heard and remember, Gavin went out quieter, but he became more tired over time. I think it's safe to write them both as food poisoning, even if things were weird at the time.
[ Hands on hips. ]
Oh, right, this might have been obvious, but during the last storm there was a lot of pink and flesh everywhere now that I think back to it.

[ He has seen a lot of it by now. ]

Maybe we're thinking about this backwards. How did Callisto and the rest of the senior crew survive?
no subject
anyway, looking specifically at this journal entry, for easy reference:
The ship is collapsing in on itself abruptly… And it would seem that we have been separated from the rest of the crew. Callisto, Io, Metis, Ganymede, Adrastea, and Europa are working on the debris barring our way. Thebe is trying to keep themselves calm. Fortunately, all is stable within our confined area, though the announcement called for evacuation.
But I worry. If I were to leave my place again, would you be able to find your way? I fear that I won’t be able to meet you when you finally arrive, Master… And for that I apologize.
Everyone may not agree with my choice, but until my soul is shattered and I cannot keep my form, I will wait here no matter how inoperable the Eudora becomes. HER-MES is supposed to carry my message across the stars, isn’t it?
I’m here. I’m waiting.
… There’s a strange darkness where we are. Or perhaps it had always been here in the ship and decided to surface. ]
Perhaps we should ask Amalthea, as this seems to be her journal. It may jog some memory of hers. But it does seem that they were at least temporarily confined somewhere safe while the ship fell apart...

If that's true, deaths the current senior crew witnessed may not be as critical as the ones they didn't. But I don't know if I'm on the right track or not.
no subject
I think you're right! One of the ghosts told me that it was strange that the ship could still be functional after the storm that destroyed it... so something happened that repaired the ship and affected the current senior crew's memories. I assume it also had to do with our arrival. Scien also mentioned that Vash had a gap in his memory from before this current tour started, so finding out what happened in this blackout period seems important.

...Thanks for putting all of this together, Sidon.
[it helps a lot? especially for their hungover brains?]
Maybe we can point one of the rat cameras at the roster? And then let them know on Her-mes that we changed the view?
no subject
anyway he's a people person so this is the only part of the plot he's helpful with. he pushes him some tea. ]
I think that is an excellent idea, Eunhyuk! I was speaking to Owner—they don't seem to have reacted or mentioned anything about what we sent them already... Perhaps we should ask and see what they've received?
Otherwise, at least we know that Viktor has all the information we did, up until this Sunday.
no subject
I'll ask them on the Her-mes then.
[HE WILL GO AND DO THAT...]
We should probably double check the cameras too. [he doesn't know one of them is in the strip club]

It takes him a moment as the memories of what happened shoots him. ]
All of this really escalated, but this is right. I remember the news about Rhys... After Gavin and Courtney went. Bryce we thought was food poisoning because rations were starting to rot, but—I think some of us saw something else in what he was eating. [ HIS HOMOPHOBIC HOMOSEXUAL COWORKER ] That was Kieran.
[ Solemn after a night's party drinking. ]
I don't know anything about the second part because I was stuck with the kidnapped solidarity crew. [ senior officers ] But that is Jade and Ellya.
It sounds like they escaped with Ando? I hope.
no subject
I am sorry about all this, truly.
[ it's good to have confirmation, but it's all bad. ]
Does reading Amalthea's journal help with your memory at all about what happened to you all during the storm? It sounds like you survived by being chambered in by debris somewhere. But it does not explain everything that happened after... [ they might just need to talk to her directly but tries with vash anyway
ALSO AHHHHH AFTER GREGOR SAYS SOMETHING. pulls up this doc. ]
Also, do you know if this is Oscar?
no subject
[ That's more of an afterthought, but... ]
We all eventually knocked out after some time, then I remember waking up. Everyone was there—and the ship wasn't as wrecked as the video. It needed a lot of maintenance, but it was operable... Like it fixed itself. I didn't think it was weird and we went on with an agenda of welcoming junior crew, still believing we were part of Nut & Bolt with a fake history of the winter tour and why the Eudora was in this state.
[ It's all right, he was there, so. A nod. ]
The first feed is Oscar. [ Then looking at the last feed. ] And that would be Nera's, but we know that already.
no subject
[ said a little fretfully. it would be really nice if not everyone was dead. ]
But thank you, Vash! [ they can update oscar's fate ] That really just leaves Blake.
[ courtney too but at least they have a lead there. a pause. please brace for how wrong this is i am just trying to spitball. ]
...This is all speculation on my part, based on what we've all spoken on. But it sounds like the Eudora may have been overtaken by something sinister when you visited an "infected" planet. Lotophagos, which was enrobed in... pollen? CEM waves have existed forever, yet have been spreading within the last few years in influence and power... perhaps because they are the consequence of a living thing, infecting and integrating new minds into its fold. It grows more powerful in influence across the stars—Nut & Bolt would be an excellent tool or even front for that, with how far you travel. This blight struggles to assimilate minds that are sharper—like those of the denizens of Acquada—and can be blocked out by certain items. Those that cannot resist... it can trick entire civilizations into believing it is granting them prosperity before bringing about ruin. Like the hallucinations that Viktor and Eunhyuk saw.
The last storm was strange. Abigail said the environment around the ship itself might have changed... The stronger CEM waves might have had a role to play. And then there is the planet that disappeared entirely. [ digested???? ] But then the ship repaired itself, perhaps more like a wound that heals rather than a machine.
It may have used you all to continue running the ship—affecting your minds and having you spread its blight.
And I wonder—were we not all under the effects of the waves too? The ship has attempted to indoctrinate us from the beginning, with its strange effects. [ mini-event effects ] Perhaps it is that the ship has always been overrun by haze and meat and the living simply do not see it unless they use an item to temporarily ward themselves. What if what we are experiencing here is... closer to the truth? The Heart, the Brain—the lotuses. The rifts we saw last week, where the locations of the living were covered in pink mists. Even in videos we have seen for weeks—the haze has been there all along.
...In any case, learning the truth seems to dispel some of the lies! Apologies for my rambling! I think we ought to work on finding out what happened to Blake, it's likely to help.
