welcome back, kids. now that you're both at least up, you'll find that the temple itself is very quiet. unlike the forest, though: in the very far distance, you can hear noises. rustling wind, softly chirping nightbirds, the ocean. you get the feeling that it is safe, here, but you aren't quite home.
the collars are still tightly around both of your necks - the moon dangles at the hollow of your throats - and you are. again. so crispy. and so bloody. but the grapes you ate and the revive spell have brought you both at least to stable condition. you're not gonna bleed out, at least not here.
the darkness in the temple is not purple fog, but just natural.
("I've always been something of a night owl. says a voice, distant, female, somber, but with a touch of amusement.
"You and I both, Throné. Let's keep watch." says another, male, mellifluous and soft.)
you might also note that your lanterns somehow came with you? they rolled a little ways away, but they're still there. in case you wanted to explore a bit. ]

Should we look around? We're out of the woods literally, but not fully yet.

no scarecrow's fine. he's sitting over by the lanterns, feathers very ruffled but otherwise unharmed. in fact, when he sees eunhyuk, he crows and starts hopping. shu, you can tell he's saying something along the lines of "Ohmygod I'm so sorry are you okay?! I'm so sorry!!!" so he's probably fine.
the temple is big, but you can clearly see there are some stone steps up ahead, leading up to something as the lanterns come up. you'll find your flames are flickering a little brighter, now, as you have successfully fought off the dark. occasionally, the light flickers blue instead of orangey yellow. moving your lanterns shows there are some murals on the walls, but they're hard to make out, and in a language you don't understand.
nothing's coming! it really, actually, does feel kind of safe in here, though you get the sense that safety might be limited. ]
[ scarecrow immediately hops into shu's arms, being very very mindful of his injuries, and starts preening his hair. sure, he can do that! he can see there are three large animal shapes. a huge dragonlike creature - a massive turtle like creature - and a huge blue bird. this mural is ancient. in his cleric mind palace, he will not recognize these figures, but...
"Hmm. The Tombs of the Wardenbeast... It seems we will find our way to Toto'haha more than once." says the male voice from before.
"Maybe you should look into better clothes, Detective. You're going to melt." says the female voice, clearly making fun of him.
well the good news is you guys are freaking out for nothing. (probably).
you ascend the stairs! at the top of the stairs is an octagonal dais, and nestled in that is a large metal torch structure. it's not so tall that you couldn't see over the top of it, but it is big, and you get the sense that it's important. it even feels a little familiar.
eunhyuk, to you, it feels especially familiar. the torch is currently unlit.
the voice, again. male, sounding weary, but no less strong.

silence. female, exhausted, barely breathing, but still meaning the words.

shu will wander over to the dais, and hold up his lantern for a closer look at what's going on here. and then he'll take a little sit down somewhere nearby, because he's still pretty injured. ]
[ eunhyuk and shu. you take the lantern over to the torch.
it feels like there should be more fanfare - but there's not, not really. the fire in the lantern that you kept alive all this time touches the kindling, and something sparks. it takes a few tries. once. twice, three times.
but on the third, the flame catches, and it begins to light - blazing a pure, bright blue and beautiful. eunhyuk, for a moment your form flickers like it too, in shu's eyes, but you don't really notice it; instead, the flame takes your attention entirely.
this, you realize with a start, is the sacred flame. it's one of four parts of it, sent off to the different corners of the continents to protect the people who live in solistia. it's the basis of the faith of the clerical robes that you carry, but it is the protection of the entire continent. it is its hearth, its home. it is the dawn.
("And the people of Solistia may live in its light, warmth, and protection, evermore." says the male voice.)
the sacred flame relights. and with it, the two of you are swept up in its warmth, protected like being lifted on the wings of an angel. you close your eyes into the blue, blue moment, and you let the sacred flame guide you...
