[ the door opens and io is just standing there in the doorway a moment before stepping to the side and allowing shouxue in. the galley is fairly spacious, with what looks to be top-of-the-line stuff. a stove, a massive fridge, a cryo freezer, a prep island, and dozens of cabinets and counter space.
all of which are modern fare so like. good luck. (she has help, it's okay.) ]
It's a lot to put away, but... I believe some have been using their galley access to feed others some homecooked food, so best to keep things stocked.
[ a nod ]
Thank you for your help. I know the circumstances are less than ideal.
[ this is so modern for her. at least she's a quick enough learner once she gets over the novelty. some things she can guess what they are, but a cryo freezer? what the heckie. ]
People are showing more generosity than expected, but I will help in return for whatever food I receive. [ among other things. ]
I don't do anything without a price, so I don't expect anything without one either.
[ most things are self-explanatory, a pantry with clearly labeled things, the refrigerator is cool with bins of separated produce. it's just A Lot (well, for a crew like theirs it's suitable.)
at that:
Of course. I did offer to make something in return. Do you have favorite things to eat...?
[ that's fine. the little tomatoes on the counter can simply chillax. io doesn't seem to show any kind of Disappointment or anything. just a small ? on their helmet pops up. ]
[ thebe is just here in the stasis bay with a bottle in their hand. they're just kind of hanging around by dahut's pod, but will lift their head, ears lifting a bit in acknowledgement. ]
Yes, you would be. We cannot allow that to happen at this time - anyone incapacitated must remain in a stasis pod until the end of the tour. That's just the protocol we are required to follow.
[ there is a flare in her emotions, but to her credit, her voice doesn't raise much. ]
Your protocols that you all wish to follow have failed you time and time these past few days. I am sure you have heard no end of complaints, but if you cannot grant the dying wishes of those your protocols have failed, what good are they?
There are two questions. Is there a way for the medical bay to gain more recovery pods?
Is Anoria a planet this company frequently visits for work?
both good questions. for the first, we can put in a request for more - but i'm not sure if it would be approved, or how long it would take for us to get them if it was. we can also technically try to pick up something without approval from a planet that might have a seller, but that's less above board and we wouldn't know if it would work in our medbay. so technically yes, but it's tricky.
from what i understand, though, anoria is more recently part of the company's routine delivery system, yes.
Tricky is better than not at all. I have concerns about the rate people have been showing up injured. I don't want to expect a repeat of last week, but what if it happens?
[ she doesn't know that such is the way of a mg. ]
Recent? I found signs of a Eudora employee who might have visited the other day while exploring Anoria.
W0 MONDAY
Come and meet me at the mess hall then, knock twice on the galley door and I'll let you in to help out.
[ there is a little location ping so shouxue may find her way there. ]

she wants to be a little dignified, but her immediate thought gives her away: baozi with lotus seed paste. ]
no subject
Pardon... What do they taste like?
no subject
Warm and sweet and comforting. The bao is soft and warm, and the filling is sweet and nutty, and it is the best combination.
[ she is so sure. her vibe is convinced despite her muted expression. ]

[ tilting their head a bit, just been busy and haven't talked to people since after the alert. ]
The procedure for any kind of death on board... [ unhappily ] dictates that any remains on board need to be preserved in stasis pods.

If we wanted to burn their remains, would we be stopped?

Yes, you would be. We cannot allow that to happen at this time - anyone incapacitated must remain in a stasis pod until the end of the tour. That's just the protocol we are required to follow.

They're no good for dying wishes. I'm not saying that they are.
Right now, under [ a muted unhappiness ] contract we can't do that.

It is a digital representation of expressions often used in text-based communications. You can consider them symbols.

I wonder if this emoji would be affiliated with Adrastrea?
no subject
Why Adrastrea?
no subject
Because I'd say they like to sneak around a lot. Hide in the shadows. In this case... The smoke?
no subject
Oh. I think I see it. If I text them it, do you think they'll agree?
[ can't believe she's going to think clouds are smoke now. ]
no subject
I don't know if they will understand at first... They might think you are the one hiding.
[ Listen. Amalthea doesn't know emojis well. ]
