... I can't place who these people are. [ murmured, after she sees the other individual joins the first. for a moment, her expression pinches with pain. ] But it's like when you have something on the tip of your tongue.
My tolerance for pain is high, so this isn't particularly bothersome to me. It does hurt, though, so the dam hasn't been broken through just yet.
[ reaching to rub at one of the panels of her wetware implanted around her eyes, frowning as she thinks. ]
Europa and I are from the same world - the same nation, even. They are the one I trust the most, and who I would tell you to go to if something were to happen to me. [ that one's immediate. ] My team - Amalthea, Metis, and Thebe - are people that I've taken responsibility for, and whose company I enjoy for different reasons. They're good people.
The other three... Io and I are friendly, and I've put my life in their hands more than once. Ganymede is a bit of a bleeding heart, but there's no one else I would go to when I have questions about space or the technology that we're not familiar with.

... we originally thought it was because they were taking their promotion seriously, but I can't exactly trust my memories of more idyllic things as we work our way through the haze. But they were far more friendly, before. Less abrasive and more empathetic.

That's alright. Every bit helps, though I may question you about it again, once some time has passed. You understand. [ there's a brief quirk of a smile there, blink and you'll miss it. ]
Would you call them angrier, now? Is it consistent? Or does it fade in and out?
[ eyes fluttering open again, whirring as they refocus. it's almost affectionate? ]
Their behavior is consistent. I wouldn't necessarily call them angrier, but they aren't particularly friendly. Many, I imagine, would accuse Europa of similar behavior, but they're our oldest by far more than centuries, and much of it was spent isolating themself from mankind to keep them safe. They're simply... unaccustomed to it.
No, and the seven remaining of us have all taken our helmets off around one another. Even those whose wetware is less pleasing to look at, underneath. I've told them to take it off and they haven't.

[ ... frowning. ]
No. I can't pinpoint the change. Before you all got here, but I'm not sure how long before.
