there's definitely openings though - he's well-trained, but used to being able to use magic to his advantage, and lately overly reliant on the power of the Somnovem, who clearly aren't here. he'll drop form to mistakenly try a gesture that's meant to evoke something that doesn't come, and gets frustrated easily when he finds himself slowing down. ]
