[ as the doors close, adrastea watches them before looking around to see if anyone pops out of any of the show rooms or from behind the concession stand. when no one does, she - turns, pointing to her helmet and then pointing to a camera up in the corner near the ceiling, and then reaches up, taking off her helmet and shaking her head to get rid of her helmet hair. ]
Alright, looks like things paid off for a quiet night.
[ once she's threatened anyone in the security room, should there be anyone there, she turns to pull up her I.R.I.S. as she makes her way towards the concession stand. the message windows as she texts aren't differently colored, so it's not the other officers at the moment. ]
There's food, you can have drinks from the bar delivered, the seats are comfortable... plenty of space to spread out. But I can't complain.
Thinking about it, you guys must have your own quarters as well, right? [ like the have their little rooms where he never gets to sleep on the bed because kazuki boots him. ] Just very well hidden.
[ there sure is food though. heβll grab some. if someone comes to try and kill his ass in the night, then he needs to be fuelled. ]
More or less comfortable than reclining chairs and movies?
We do, yes. It's on a higher level of the ship, and the grid it's on is currently down - not enough to put us out on the streets, so to speak, but in such a way that it's off limits to anyone that's not us.
And it's also harder to get to. Half of the officers don't bother going back to their rooms most of the time, which is how you can find Io constantly catching a nap in the medbay or Ganymede in the lounge.
[ closing her I.R.I.S., she grabs some popcorn and forgoes any sweets. ]
More comfortable. Perks of being an officer, we can customize our quarters and don't have to share. We do share bathrooms, though - four bathrooms, eight officers.
Basically, you're trading privacy for ease of access then. [ hmm. ] Might be worth it though, when things are kicking off the way they do around here.
[ he's back and reclining his chair, ready to watch some of a movie before they pass out and people try to kill each other in here while they nap. wow. ]
Guess there's gotta be some perks to middle management, one way or another.
[ i remembered this was going to be a memshare thing so now's the best time for a void to awkwardly make them see one of shu's memories. shu just looks tired and annoyed. ]
Unfortunately, our warping doesn't take us very far. But I'm used to the access tunnels and ventilation system, so I don't particularly mind it. [ she doesn't disagree, though - it is worth it.
but she settles in, knowing that she'll probably get to finish the movie - but she stops thinking about it as the void forms, blinking at the memory.
being family-ish. it's a nice sentiment, if you let yourself have it - but what hits the most, in the end, is the core of this memory. what leads into the final note. what is so deeply, achingly familiar, to someone that has been left behind to survive, that has lost and been unable to do anything about it.
W3 THURSDAY

Yeah, no kidding. I'm surprised more people didn't come here again. But it works to our advantage for picking movies.

Weird word, but I get what she meant.

[ she sinks back into her seat, putting her feet rudely up on the one in front of her. ]
Hard to let yourself really have that kind of thing.

[ he nods, slowly. she gets it. ]
If you've had it and lost it before, then it's difficult to want to go through that again.
