welcome, crewmates ANISE TATLIN & CHARLES.

On MONDAY morning, Anise and Charles will hear the familiar ping of the I.R.I.S. at their wrists; the moment that they lift up their hands to check what the noise is for, a window immediately pops up. The projection fills in a glitchy spread of warm plum for Anise and cool swirl of minty green for Charles. A message sent only to their employee ID and address loads in the window.

While there's no compulsion to obey either of these requests, they do seem rather interesting, don't they? What's the harm in seeing what Europa and Thebe want to chat about?

Hey Anise, I've got something special for you.

Meet me over at Titan's Call, I have a job that you might find pretty interesting. Don't tell anyone, okay? It's top secret stuff.

Charles,

Head over to Titan's Call as soon as possible, tell no one. You'll be debriefed properly in person. Don't be late.

EUROPA

The location of Titan's Call on the concourse pops up on the I.R.I.S. once the message is read, and will indicate where Anise and Charles should go to meet Thebe and Europa with beams of light leading the way - plum and mint respectively. There, past the entryway of Titan's Call, the two Senior Crew members are waiting inside the bar. The lights have been turned down low and there is one table with some snacks and drinks.

Thebe is sat in a chair at that table, preparing two separate tablets while swinging their legs. A little black cat is curled up comfortably in their lap. Meanwhile, Europa is found close by mostly surveying the area until the two of you show yourselves. They will gesture for them to come in and take a seat, though double-checking the area they came in to ensure no one is following. Once satisfied, they return to Thebe's side to prepare for the debriefing.

"We needed a couple of extra hands to help us out with some important jobs aboard the ship. Europa and I had a chat and we think that you two are up to the task." Thebe will place both tablets on a pair of stands, one with the pixelated face of a rabbit on it, the other with the pixelated face of a rat.

Europa, who remains quiet for the most part finally speaks up, "Let's get started."

RULES

As members of the maintenance crew, Anise and Charles are expected to follow a few rules:

1. For now, keep your new designation a secret. This can be revisited at a later date. Should this designation be shared with anyone without authorization, consequences and termination of position are possible.
2. If you distribute any information acquired, it must be done anonymously or without referencing the source. This can be revisited at a later date.
3. Once a week maintenance crew members will be tasked with accomplishing two jobs:

🐇 The Task Rabbit will be given a new task with each new week. Though the specific tasks may vary, it must be completed before Friday at 9PM EST / 6PM PST. Should they report a successful task completion in time, they may be rewarded. There may be a possibility that the rabbit may be tasked with an AC Kill, which may override other tasks.
🐀 The Pack Rat will be shown a list of three items to pick from. They must then submit the names of three people they would like to give the chosen item. This choice must be made by Tuesday at 9PM EST / 6PM PST. The Pack Rat may aid the Task Rabbit if they so choose with the AC Kill task, but will forfeit their ability to give out an item that week. This will guarantee the AC Killer's protection.

4. Additionally, the Maintenance Crew may use this time to speak directly with Europa and Thebe each week. They may ask questions, receive small hints, or simply chat with them, though any information received will be subject to their own discretion.

Thebe is currently sitting sideways in her seat as she swipes through her I.R.I.S, leaning back against Europa who stands right beside the chair. His arms are crossed, facing the rest of the room and will look over as a familiar black loaf resting on his shoulders looking so cozy. ]

[to europa:

charles smiles at the sight of the loaf on europa's shoulders. gives a little wave to both of them.

but also to thebe:]

Hey, Thebe. I already talked to Europa about them, but has anyone been keeping you up to date with the data pads?

[dropoffs]

[ Europa does not wave. His hands are full. "They're just crossed." They're full. But he does nod. The black loaf stretches a little with a sleepy yawn before it blinks contently at Charles. Hewwo. ]

[riverbeans]

[can he... pet the loaf...]

[dropoffs]

[ Yes. Though if he reaches out, Europa watches his hand closely. So does Son, who catches his hand between both of his paws. Still balancing comfortably on Europa's shoulders. How do cats do that? A mystery. Though the cat pulls the hand to his head with a contented purr. ]

[dropoffs]

[ thebe tilts her head a bit in thought and then hums. ] Whatever I've gotten lately is through our group meetings, no one has really come to me with any other things like that. Last time anyone came to me personally... I think it was Thronè one or two weeks ago? Rodya before that. Why, did you want me to see something?

[riverbeans]

Mm, my hope is that the more you see, the more it might jog your memory—in particular, in terms of recognizing any of the previous crew.

[but if thebe is up for it, he will show them all the data pads i am not linking them all i'm sorry but it's titan's call, cargo bay, medical bay stuff, multiplex stuff including the decrypted video, lockers, salon, and security data pads.]

Hey. I'm not shy... Happy to read whatever you guys bring to me anytime. [ so they will take the datapads and slowly go through each one, nursing a drink as they do. it takes a bit to get through it all, occasionally lifting the data pad with the crew roster on it and thinking. there's a small twitch to their brow, but eventually... ] I recognize her... [ pointing at the log set in the medbay, regarding the Bees. there's a sympathetic uptick to their brows. ] Jade...? Jade Brooks.

[ hi thebe! coming over to sit by them. ]

JUNOBoard...? Who came up with that?

[ hi europa! ]

Wow! Son's really making himself comfortable.

[dropoffs]

[ hello sweet anise aaaaa thebe just smiles and folds her arms gently on the table. ] It was an idea we talked a bit about, an even more effective memorial than decorating lockers, something you guys can add to and update over time that won't deteriorate either like flowers... though I really like seeing those around too...

You like flowers? Like what kind?

[dropoffs]

[ a laugh as she holds her cheek in her hand. ] Hey now, they should be for them, not me. But I like stargazer lilies... and I like... Irises. We don't have a lot of flowers anymore where I'm from, and they're too expensive to just buy and impossible to grow.

[dropoffs]

Wouldn't be the first time. [ But Europa doesn't seem to care - or mind? Son blinks sleepily at Anise, meowing. ]

With just Son, or with animals in general?

[dropoffs]

Son. I normally keep away from animals and people alike otherwise.

[........... and yet it is still likely neither of them will pick it even if he sadly thinks of eunhyuk for a moment knowing eunhyuk wanted one. BUT HE'S DEAD NOW. BYE, BINCH. i continue to lash out at yaywon every day of my life.]

... But it feels like these items are getting even more vague. A pigeon? Would we be delivering an actual bird to someone?

Some places use pigeons to deliver letters to remote areas... um, but I guess we can send messages everywhere instantly with the IRIS anyway...

[ so maybe it's not a messenger pigeon? ]

I'm used to handling messenger birds myself, though I haven't the faintest clue if that's what this pigeon is for. Or what the whistle is meant to be for...

🐇 The Task Rabbit
Encourage use of the new "JUNOBoard" located in the observation deck & lounge by at least 3 people, to memorialize the dead. The more the better. The JUNOBoard allows an individual to share a thought or image via a stylus or by touch. These will be collected and will then be projected to their pods and will scroll over each one in turn for the remainder of the journey.

[ thebe is here to accept charles' report and looks pretty pleased with the results (canonically, this is dispensed friday post announcements.) she will be giving charles an item in exchange. ]

Awesome work, Charles. Thanks. Now, I scored this from Scrap before they left... it's a rare paste from back on Hyros that they were able to synthesize a little to make it more appealing.

[ in a small jar, charles will see some white, grainy paste with golden seedy granules. the instructions read as such:
- smooth the paste over your skin and feel immediately more alert for 3 hours
- eat 3 spoonfuls of the paste (per dose) and it goes down with a grainy/sugary sweet texture, tasting like your favorite meal. it will shake off any terrible feelings quite effortlessly and leave you clear-headed.

please note: regardless of how you dispense this paste, it has ONLY THREE USES. after using this paste, you will smell like a sunny, beachy day for 24 hours. ]
