ROLE — SURGEON 💉
SURGEON
welcome, crewmate ARTHUR STARLING.
On MONDAY afternoon, after the Eudora has arrived at its new destination, Arthur will hear the familiar ping of his I.R.I.S. Without even having to lift his hand to respond to it, a window immediately materializes from particles in a spread of dark gold, and a message sent only to his employee ID loads in the window.
There is no compulsion to obey the request, but the offer extended to you has a distinct tinge of stubborn hope... and it does sound interesting.

Arthur Starling,
Desperate times call for desperate measures. There's something that I need your help with, but I'll be honest, it's a ghost promotion without too many perks. That is, unless you consider the chance to perhaps change things for the better something of a perk.
Meet me in the medical bay as soon as you receive this message. We don't have time to waste. Clock's ticking.

IO
The medical bay is by no means difficult to find, however Arthur will see a sign that very politely says OUT TO LUNCH, BACK IN 1 HOUR. While the biometric lock on the door indicates that it is locked at first, upon Arthur nearing it, it will flash a soft green and allow him inside.
Io is there already, peering through a microscope and writing in a small, leather journal. They will lift their head towards Arthur, the display on their helmet blank. They gesture with a gloved hand towards a set of stools placed at their desk, where there are a pair of data tablets as well. At the center of the desk, there are some neatly made dumplings and a fresh pot of tea with a pair of mis-matched cups.
They smooth a palm over their long jacket and reach into their pocket to withdraw a leatherbound notebook. "Come, have a seat and I'll try and explain this as best I can."

RULES
As the crewmate responsible for the surgeon role, Arthur is expected to follow a few rules:
1. For now, keep your new designation a secret. This can be revisited at a later date. Should this designation be shared with anyone without prior authorization, consequences, and termination of the designation are possible.
2. If you distribute any information acquired, it must be done anonymously or without referencing the true source. This can be revisited at a later date.
3. Once a week, the Surgeon will be called upon to do the following:
🩺 Select one of your fellow junior crewmates' files. If the chosen crewmate is targeted for murder on Thursday evening, they may be protected from their demise.
🫀Select one of your fellow junior crewmates' files. If the chosen crewmate is voted for execution on Sunday afternoon, they may be saved from their demise.
4. Selection must be made during Arthur's meeting with Io when summoned (OOCly selections are due by TUESDAY 3 PM PST/6 PM EST). Once one or both parties leave the meeting, the job is considered over for the week and no selections or further work can be done. This does not mean that the role can't be discussed in audiences, however.

Adequate. What are you working on?

Takes getting used to, but looks like you've gotten the hang of it.

And I foresee many hangovers. And a few sore prosthetic ports... So I've pulled some of the herbs from hydroponics to help if that happens now that it's opened. Needed to pay it a good visit anyways.

Escapism perhaps? Bit too much to drink? There's a certain amount of indulgence that tends to follow places like this.
Not one for such things, I take it?

Not hardly.

As for another party, that would depend on the people here. Most of us have a little too much work to coordinate such things.
