ROLE — MISSION CONTROL 🚀
MISSION CONTROL
welcome, RODION.
On MONDAY afternoon some hours after landing, then the new amenities to the ship, Rodion will hear a familiar notification ringing from her I.R.I.S. It takes one look, one gesture, and a gold message screen displays in a cascade.
... The message is sparse and carries a rigid aura.

You want answers, don't you? Come to the command room right now.
CALLISTO
Rodion has seen the command room before in passing. It's the room where the senior crew often check all sort of stuff from metrics, diagnostics, navigation, supply, inventory... You get the point. There are a number of terminals, all of them Rodion is aware she wouldn't have access clearance.
There waits Callisto with their arms crossed, staring intensely at the main supercomputer. How you want to interpret it is up to you, but they do lift their head when they sense her peek through the door. They proceed to say nothing.
Just come on in.

RULES
As the role responsible for mission control, Rodion is expected to follow a few rules:
1. For now, keep your new designation a secret. Should this designation be shared with anyone without prior authorization, consequences and termination of position are possible. This can be revisited at a later date.
2. If you distribute any information acquired, it must be done anonymously or without referencing the source. This can be revisited at a later date.
3. Rodion will be given the opportunity to uncover one file from one of three directories in a hacked console.🚀 EUDORA, an uncovered bank of ship data audits and previous mission dossiers.
📓 JOURNALS, an isolated cloud of otherwise private I.R.I.S. files.
👥 CREW, files that contain historical personnel records.
4. Selection is due by WEDNESDAY and information will be dispensed as soon as possible, but ideally before the next week.

Acquada. It's a panthalassic planet.
[ IT ISN'T WURMS ]
We once had a guardian when we were children. He was especially attached to her. [ Said with complicated contempt. ] I already checked the waste disposal and found nothing. The flower is also nowhere to be found there.
[ HE DOESN'T WANT TO SAY that Vash might have died mysteriously. ]

Sure, but people don't just... evaporate, you know? Unless that's something you guys are known for doing. Something happened here, and whether that's CEM waves putting him into a mirror world -- or another dimension, to put it more generally...
Huh. Do you think that's it? Where they're all at. You gotta know a thing or two about it since you already know the Tesseract draws power from a higher dimension or whatever it is they said about it.
no subject
[ So he's aware and has experience even entering a different dimension. Hm. ]
... Into another dimension. [ As he thinks about it more, that does sound entirely plausible. ] While we take you on missions to disperse storms, other groups are taken by an interdimensional rift. From what I have heard on missions, both scenarios are similar in content, even if the details are widely varied. Charles had also said that rifts from his world can transport them to Hell.
[ ... ]
That article about revival mentioned needed a vessel.
no subject
[ She says this like it's any easier to find the exact right mirror world needed when it's an infinite choice. Well, they can worry about that later. Right now, solution path! ]
What exactly does a vessel have to be?
no subject
Where is his body.
[ oh no ]

What the heck was that.

He's having a mini spiral right now. ]

Hey, earth to Callie! Stop going off into your despair spiral!
[ SNAPPING HER FINGERS IN FRONT OF HIS EYES come back here. ]
Seriously, have you actually talked to the other senior crew yet? About everything.
no subject
this forces him to think, though. ]
What more do I have to say to them? They already know and they already distrust me. It doesn't matter to me that they continue to bar me from their plans—but I won't let them handle my brother in their secrecy.
[ He's just as distrustful is what this says. ]
no subject
You're here for your brother, right? And they like the other Callisto.
If that's all it is, then there's no point in having them not work with you. Same goal and all. You know how much work I'm putting into making sure the other junior roles don't distrust you either?
[ It's not that much work because for some reason people just believe Rodion but hey. ]
no subject
[ Legitimately, this is very reasonable. Knives didn't ask to be roped into being part of their crew. He's here for Vash. ]
You can never predict if they'll turn on you later.
no subject
Unless you do secretly have plans that justify them turning on you at all?

What if we don't retaliate to begin with?
no subject
[ yes you are ]

[ Sift through priorities... ]

I already got an idea of what to put in the terminal, so you're my other half of the problem.
no subject
[ an intervention....... ]
... Is it the interdimensional rifts?
no subject
And yeah, it is.
no subject
I'm one and they're seven.
[ becomes 2 years old ]

[ Years old. ]
What am I, chopped liver?
[ Include HERRRR. ]
