I'll see if I can... pick up on anything with my own capabilities. It's a long shot, and I haven't used them in a long time, but I'll offer up what I can.
[ he sits back. ]
A meat processing plant. They slaughter, then process - tanning hides, packaging meat, grinding bones... that kind of thing.
Perhaps not that different than my last... [ muttered, extremely dryly. ] Are we expected, or shall we be infiltrating? If we're expected to speak with the locals, what sort of story ought we tell them?
[ what's wrong with meat? it's how you can become big strong russian boy! (no stay twinkie) ]
We're "survey scouts" doing the "usual rounds" since there have been a few reports of missing persons, I think we can dip into that and see if it's at all related.
Your suits will have an insignia that will grant you some privileges that should get the locals to talk easily. Whether it's the truth... well. That's up to you to glean.
[ please think about the idea of strong russian temenos. cursed. ]
Hm. Well, worry not, dear doctor - I'm quite good at that.
[ nothing says temenos like coercing information out of the locals! because this went so well for him last time!!! ]
You said that the missing persons might be connected to the disruption of the storm, yes? Do you know if it might be an object, a monster...? The heartseed was the latter.
While there aren't any monsters that I've heard about from any reports on this planet, it could be a possibility. A distant one, but... mostly the planet's populated by humans, cows, chickens, horses, that sort of thing. No monstrous reports that we've received from any of the previous survey date I could find.
Frankly, I think humans can be monstrous enough. But it's not... completely out there. I'd try and rule out the usual suspects first before jumping to a beast. I'll keep my ear to the ground as well.
And let you four have all the fun? No. I'm going to park this thing and then we'll divide and conquer. The four of you, if possible, should interact with some of the locals in the area, find out as much as you can in relation to the plant or these missing persons.
[ sends info to all of you. ]
I'm going to try and negotiate a way for us to get inside while the recon happens.
[ oh immediately reading over this missing person's report... this is his Jam!!!! interacting with locals!! getting info!!! yey ]
Interesting. [ he's listening in and out to the convo with shoma, too... ] You said it's a small population - are there many families? Is the community tightly knit, as far as you know from the mission data? I imagine the plant is difficult to miss in the grand scheme of the planet itself.
There are a few major families, yes. They oversee much of the business here. Some are military-based with a long legacy, others here to farm, and the one major family that deals in all of the plant's business.
Everyone else is rather scattered and keeps to themselves, though everyone knows everyone. I believe in a... cautionary way. They're all trying to get by.
The plant itself is enormous. It's the largest landmark on the planet.
[ he'll pull up a few photos of the planet's surface. the plant itself looks like a concrete hive, soulless rectangular buildings all interconnected in strange ways... it's indeed. an eyesore. and windowless. ]
[ at least he's going to be magical again. consequences or otherwise, it'll help him prepare for the inevitable carnage that's coming because he has zero idea that this will be anything but a bloody mess. a meat grinder, if you will. ]
Well. We'll be thankful for your guidance, I am sure, Io.

I suppose we'll find out when we get in.

Things do find a way of shifting themselves in these storms... if Amalthea's journey is anything to go by, then we may really be in for it.

[ no optimism here for that one. ] Will you be staying on the ship or joining us?

...It certainly looks like a gaol. [ good lord. ] Are the people here humanoid, or is it a mix?

[ my concrete soup. ]
It's a primarily human colony according to the information.

Just be prepared with first aid when push comes to shove, at the end. If it's anything like the last round, I'll run through all of my mana.

The atmosphere down on the planet is less than forgiving. You might find yourself more tired than usual, so just pace it out, alright?
