[the combination of being hit with eunhyuk's holy light blast, lucien shanking the guy in the chest with a knife, viktor palpatine-ing him, and harley - well, harley blows a little bit of wind at him which doesn't really hurt but it's okay. she buffs the other two, which means they do twice the amount of damage. claude is a bit burnt to a crisp here, and when lucien pulls his dagger back, he'll get to see a fun sight of the guy's beating heart just spluttering in his chest. ew.
of course, and then shouxue comes in with the steel chair, which is manyue flapping her wings once, twice, and then picking up speed as she slices three rings of darkness at claude, and
there's a pause.
and he laughs, eyes on all of you, before his head slides off his body to the ground and thuds down the steps.
all that is left is the pathetic mostly dead creature. it is falling apart, literally, limbs melting into the ground. it looks like it is in a lot of pain.

[ mug it out of its misery is the funniest sentence i've ever read. god the lucien monster is so sad. it stares up at you with its miserable, awful expression, viktor, as you attempt to mug it, and its eyes go from white to red. it lifts its gigantic unnatural neck off the ground, and it... licks your cheek with its big, too long tongue when you bonk it with your staff, like it is apologizing for all of the horrors it caused. it doesn't have anything left to give you, mugger, but it would give you the world if you asked for it. maybe literally. it is lucien. (and for a moment, as the rest of you look over at it, the creature isn't just lucien. it's eunyoo, it's ivy, it's yuri, it's viktor, it's gaojun. all of their features flicker across its awful, monstrous face, one at a time.)
the bonk seems to be enough, anyway. after that, the massive creature closes its huge eyes and lays down its head with a sigh. the creature begins, slowly, to wither away into dust under your hands.
lucien (real) meanwhile is going straight for arcanette, who is in the process of mumbling some sort of spell? she's holding her staff and has her eyes closed, which makes her like, the best target ever. you leap forward and stab her with your sword - straight through the gut, and she also gasps. the noise is, unfortunately much like claude, delighted. arcanette is a nihilist. she doesn't care about anything in this goddamn world, except for destruction, and you destroying her is just a part of that plan.
she puts her hand on lucien's sword where it stabs through her and sighs, spitting blood up onto the weapon. ]

when she slumps onto his sword, it becomes very clear that she is no longer moving. thank god shes a squishy fucking cleric wizard. more importantly, when she hits the ground, there's something that falls out of her pockets, hitting the ground with a soft 'tink'!
it appears to be half of a mirror. when you look over at claude's awful corpse, you might see another half of a mirror, left behind. these two pieces clearly fit together... hmm.
when arcanette drops to the ground, whatever ominous spell she was casting lifts, and you realize that the sun and moon cavern is slowly, slowly starting to illuminate. there was something missing from this place, but you can see now from the entrance of the cavern that the sun is beginning to rise. when was the last time you saw the sun? was it in new delsta? in frigid, miserable stormhail?
all of you are. so, so terribly injured. you're traumatized, probably, by nearly killing each other earlier and by having to murder the shit out of demon monster versions of people who cared about you. your brains might be a little bit scrambled still.
but hey. the dawn is coming. unstoppable and warm, it rises. ]
