[as viktor goes off to threaten a shopkeeper successfully, harley and shouxue wander off to the stable! they find two dudes just milling around in there.
with a ten, you can talk to the horses quietly - they're not unfriendly! a little spooked. one tells you that this isn't home... it lives really far away from here and it isn't sure how it got there in the first place. the other horses seem to not mind being here, but they also indicate that maybe they're not supposed to be here. like perhaps they are stolen goods... but you seem to have some measure of success with convincing them that you need their help, if that's what you want!
also there's a... well.
in here. you... theoretically could take this with you too.
in any case, if you want to try and coax the horses out of the stable, you are more than welcome to. the guys standing watch kind of just watch you do it? like mall cops who don't have authority. this may have consequences later.
oh and also there are no carriages i forgot about this part. maybe there is a cart but i'm going to make you leave the city next tag round or else]

HOW NO ONE SEES VIKTOR RUNNING AWAY FROM THE WEAPONS SHOP WITH HIS ARMS FULL IDK. They thought he paid for them, clearly. He's just overjoyed about his cache.
He hurries to the outside of the city before there is any kind of other uproar, only to run into an uproar already happening at the stables. His mouth drops open.]
anyway - harley wants the deer. shouxue also wants the deer! the deer does not want either one of them. with a [4] from our lovely hunter, it immediately rears back when shouxue approaches, and lets out a horrifying eldritch noise. it kicks the stable door open and rams through, trampling shouxue probably nearly to death, gores both stablehands, and then turns to look at the other two with a fierce look before charging through the open door. this is just in time for viktor to come along with his arm full of very legal weapons.
if you roll under a 15, you're gonna take significant deer damage, so roll for me, harley and viktor!
anyway, the horses are now very ready to leave! you can take them with you. you... might want to try to heal shouxue and yourself, somehow? you have those grapes! shove that badboy in her mouth or she's going to bleed to death and you get a game over.
it takes you about twenty minutes or so to get to the church. you are... on horses? you are on one whole horse on your way to the church.
it's a pretty uneventful trek down this road. it's night time, now, and the church is massive. it's old, and rotting, and ruined. and as you walk inside (possibly with your horse), you find what looks to be a shimmering sort of area ahead. for a second, it's the ruins of a church, and then.. it's not. it's a cave, with uneven lighting. it's cold and hot, morning and night, and disorienting as hell. in front of you there are two paths - one dark, and one light. you can't see down the dark path, but the light path is blocked.
you brave your way through the dark, and that seems to be the correct way to do it, as you finally come up to a strangely lit platform. it looks like maybe that there was some sort of puzzle you would've had to solve, but... instead of that, there's a body. a body lies out flat on the ground - blonde hair, dressed in while, face down in a pool of blood.
but before you can approach the body - you see another group of travelers, standing across the way, looking at you like they've seen a ghost.]
