[ hikari is instantly endeared to lucien. in fact. his ears are a little pink as he catches the charm...? as a man with canonically bad taste he finds this move very attractive but he doesn't realize that's the emotion he's having.

anyhoo.

as the three - no as the FOUR of you make your way up the stairs of the sanctum knights headquarters, you receive no strange looks or anything like it. at least…not at first.

one of the knights wearing a maroon tabard gives you sort of an odd look as you come up the stairs. she’s tan, tall, white haired, walking with her head held high, a captain’s brooch affixed to her chest. however...one sweep over the four of you and she shakes her head, and then continues walking.

eunhyuk puffs up his chest, walks to the gate, and says We're on urgent business. with all the confidence of…

… a man who rolled a 9 on his alpha check. the guard at the gate looks at him, unimpressed, but the woman with the captain badge snorts without even turning around and waves her hand. “Let them in.”

the guard says, “Yes, Captain Kaldena! and moves aside to open the door to the headquarters.

the interior of the sacred guard’s headquarters is a massive cathedral. the entire back wall is made of stained glass, and it throws beautiful rainbow patterns from the slowly setting sun outside across stone pews and stone floors. it’s the second most beautiful stained glass in all of solistia - second only to the cathedral of the sacred flame itself, deep (at home) in the heart of flamechurch.

as you make your way inside, you find that it’s empty. it must be getting close to the changing of the guard - that, or the figures who live here may have headed off for the evening. there’s one person sitting at the front desk, a cleric, but she has her head down and appears to be reading a book.

you might feel the urge to stop. to talk to the cleric, to. well, maybe to rob her. however, as you make your way in, it’s like there’s a whisper of a voice that says “keep walking”. when the four of you look ahead of you, you swear you see a figure wreathed in blue flame standing a few steps ahead. it looks a little like the knight crick - his eyes are beseeching, briefly, and he keeps walking to the stained glass panel at the very back of the room.

he then walks straight through it.

in fact, the more you look at it, the more you realize that panel seems to be…shimmering. the four of you are drawn to the stained glass panel by force (me) and the closer you get, you realize you can simply push the stained glass and there’s a hidden door that opens with a click.
