The Riven soldiers catch up. Sinclair and Gregor stand at the vanguard, with Hermann watching from a distance behind, ready to run when it suits her. As Sinclair deals with his share of the soldiers, another one attempts to run Gregor through with a spear.]

gregor aims to deflect the spear, first, taking a more defensive position before he strikes back, and that 12 probably just illustrates that his heart's not really in it.]
[Gregor deflects the spear, but his half-hearted attack is easily blocked. Another soldier comes at him, and while he's potentially distracted with that one, the first soldier promptly stabs his spear through Gregor's chest.
Suffice to say, it will hurt quite a bit. In the face of Gregor's increasing nihilism, though, perhaps that pain won't mean anything. As a matter of fact, Gregor will feel his despair surge, washing over him like a wave, as his ring grows hot—and then he wakes up.]
