[ the lockdown begins, and - ganymede looks up from where they're seated in the lounge portion of the observation deck & lounge, for once in their goddamn life. they've got a datapad propped against their thighs and their feet very carefully perched on the coffee table, but they don't seem particularly surprised by the lockdown since you all got a message notifying you of it.
they do seem pleasantly surprised to see who's here, though. ]
Oh, hey guys. Decided to hunker down here for the move?
[ outside of the observation windows, the strihira garage that the eudora has been docked in since monday moves - or, the eudora begins to leave, giving the group one last view of the planet of vampires and the final stages of the solar eclipse as she starts the process of returning to space. ]
No, that one's fair - we're still trying to figure out what the hell happened with the first group. First of all, none of them have galley access, and the systems only show them exiting when Ichiban opened the door. They never entered it, but we've had people coming and going all day.
So how much good is that data if it's not lining up with whatever actually happened?
[ she is annoyed at the data, not them, for the record. ]
And if people are going to be popping up in places no one expects them, maybe we should all have galley access. Just so we can get to each other if we need to.
[ they at least seem to understand this, because they do nod. ]
Not much.
I'll have a talk with the others about giving galley access to the entire crew, just for safety's sake. We can't have people getting stuck in there and having to wait on one of us or someone with access.
Small victories. [ a wan smile in their voice. ] In the long run, I'd rather be safe than sorry if we can ever help it.
We're all glad to listen to suggestions and try to implement them where we can. Some things are automated by what Nut & Bolt has programmed into the ship though.
Pretty good. [ said in a tone of "well, there's that at least?" ] We've got good reviews from the survey team that hired us for the afternoon, and the installation went off with very few issues despite.
Yeah, this time it's scheduled, so we could announce it. [ hi keith. ] When we leave a planet on the tour, if it's in another galaxy we'll have a space jump that schedules a stay in place order.
She's not not so bad, for being an older ship, all malfunctions and maintenance issues aside. Guess that'll make it hard for anything weird to happen, again, tonight. [ he hopes... ]
leans his head around from the lounge seating, peeking to see who it is. when it's keith and lovelace, he straightens up and moves to take his helmet off.
in the background, the eudora is slowly beginning takeoff from hyros, the golden sands shifting around the docking bay that she was parked in for the past few days. ]
Think I can reliably say you guys are always going to wind up here during the jumps, huh.

don't seem to blame her for this reaction. ]
This one is actually scheduled. So systems are up otherwise and I'm going to try and remain optimistic on this one.
[ you don't have the curfew lockdown post yet but if lovelace checks her I.R.I.S. she'll see that she can message everyone. ]

After what happened today, I'm not feeling so optimistic. Sorry. [ she has been chasing people into the medbay all day. ]

... you know.
Worms.

Well, the worms were pretty funny...

I don't know about that, it gives me the creeps. At least they have a... I guess ethical form of getting their food, but still.
