Hm, I am not sure. They just get awkward after seeing some personal things, and it is difficult to steer the conversation to something less so.

It depends on what they see.

Oh, no, I agree with you there. Everyone here is rather kind, and they wish to look out for one another. We could have been stuck with much worse.

[ yes they like to make fun of each other and they get into arguments but

the majority do seem to have everyone's overall good will in mind ]
