How long have you worked here for?

That would be about three months of being stationed here on the Eudora.

Have you always served on the Eudora? Or were you junior crew on a different ship first?

Eudora is the only ship I've served, but when we first began we were on the junior crew yes.

You were promoted very quickly then!

That I was! But to be expected from an older crew ready to retire and with what they saw as promising recruits I suppose.

How long were they working before they retired?

The previous Chief of Staff worked for about four years? If I remember correctly.

Oh, I see! Do you think you'll be here for several years? Or are you going to try to get transferred to a different ship or a different job?

Preferably I would like to stay on Eudora and continue my work here. I'm quite happy with my job.

It's too bad Nut & Bolt had so many problems with the contracts on this run... I'm sure your job can't be easy with all of that going on.

It is unfortunate and certainly does not make it easy, but it hardly compares to how you all must be feeling. I hope you're adjusting well enough in the meantime.

It's not the first time I've been brought somewhere without agreeing to be there, unfortunately. And though I've never been on a ship like this before, it's also not the strangest circumstance I've been in. So... I'm okay.

Is it not? Well, if you're okay then that's all one can hope for but... if there is anything you may need, do feel free to ask. We would prefer to make your stay here as comfortable as possible until the tour comes to an end.

Do you have any idea how Nut & Bolt even finds people to try to get them to sign contracts? I didn't even know they existed until I woke up here... so it couldn't be possible for me to have reached out to them first. What makes them take an interest in someone?

They have their own reasonings and qualifications for who they deem a worthy choice in their recruiting process. I wouldn't necessarily know what those are given that is not my department, but.

They visit different planets and approach the individual in person. A simple and straightforward job offer. That's how I remember being recruited as do the others.

So it's both a personal meeting and a signing of the contract that we don't remember... that's disquieting.

Which makes this whole situation very puzzling. It seems so far to be a mistake, and one we can possibly get a response as to why this happened from our upper management... because I certainly would like to know how we've received a crew with their contracts and nobody remembers said agreement.

I hope they get back to you as quickly as they can! It's unfair to us, but it's also unfair to you... you were expecting a crew who knew what they would be getting into and were ready to get to work. It puts an unfair burden on all of you to be supervising us.
