[ kosmo is here too, btw, and he does walk up to thebe to greet them. ]
[ a moment where they just kind of rub at their shoulder. hesitance. ]
Kinda yeah. Home is all lit up. Too lit up sometimes, haha.
[ thebe just looks at kosmo for a very long moment before lifting hand for another sniff. something wiggles a bit in the oversized hood of their jacket... and two blue eyes peer out from the dark of it, with two little ears pricking upwards. ]
I try to expand my collection when I can... Hey, buddy...
[ help. now he feels weird about asking, like maybe that was too intrusive, even though it was a basic question. ]
Makes sense- Oh, who's this? [ he looks to see what they're attention has shifted to, also what suddenly has kosmo transfixed. the space wolf's ears stand straight up, as he stands from where he had been sitting and sniffs curiously. ]
[ there is just a round black cat there staring at them both. the hood sags a good bit, like this is true kitten behavior from an adult cat. the cat's ears pin back briefly because. kosmo is still a bigger dog in comparison. ]
He's been with me since I came here. [ a beat as they watch. they'll remain son's safe space, maybe he'll poke his head out again... ] How long've you had 'em?
kosmo is not locked on son, even as he retreats back into thebe's hood. his tail swishing as he sits back down. ]
He was just chilling here on the ship, like a stray? [ not that he would doubt there being stray animals on the eudora, since there's much weirder happeneings. ] Two, going on three, years now. At least for me, for everyone else it's probably been less than a year.
Oh, gotcha. Well that's good that you have a piece of home here, in the form of a buddy too. [ keith would be way different if kosmo wasn't here. ]
Uh. Not again... [ he has to close his eyes for a second. and once he reopens them, sighs. ] I met Kosmo in the quantum abyss, which is a weird little pocket of space, where time flows differently. And my mom and I were stuck there for two years, but when we got out and back to the team, it had only been maybe a few weeks.
Oh no, I don't mind explaining, it's just [ tilts his head back and forth ] I keep forgetting just how many people here don't get space and even the ones that do, it's waaaay different from what I know.
[ sometimes you feel crazy! but it's fine. ]
Pretty much, yeah. Kosmo actually came from a meteor that fell when we were there. [ that doesn't make it sound any less crazy. ]
For the most part, yeah, but there's also been some new stuff, which has been kinda cool. Like the nanites, we don't have anything like that back home. But traveling thru space and visiting other planets, that's a normal day back home.
