yeah, lost memories can get weird but that's right. whether they're being used by something else or I dunno acting on their own might be possible too but I don't know if they're that advanced either
the eudora's advanced in that she can do a lot of things on her own, with her AI programming, but not in that she can communicate in ways that you or i can. chief rowntree, my superior officer, used to say that she had her own way of talking to him. she's got a voice to do her announcements with, sure. but it's a generic voice made my the system. from what i've understood of it, it's not that different from when i was a pilot for voltron. we'd communicate with the lions - our ships, so to speak - on a way that was more feeling it than hearing it.
she shouldn't technically be able to act on her own, though. there's set guidelines in place for her AI, failsafes, things like that, that would keep her from acting in a way that would endanger the crew she's carrying. a lot of backup systems. but the home base for voltron was similar, save for not having a... smart AI like the eudora's. different tech, way more ancient and advanced at the same time if that makes sense. and when it was infected by an outside source, that source warped the programming in the system and made the entire place dangerous to the crew.
so programming can be changed and manipulated. there's a lot of possibilities.
that is the short of it, from my past experience and what i can remember here. we don't understand a lot of her systems since we actually don't have THAT much more access than you do. everything we can do is mostly to run diagnostics, do repairs, get to places off limit to you guys. she's locked us out of anything that'd probe too deeply.
if it'd help, honestly, i'd be more than happy to rush figuring it out. but as it stands we're sort of scrambling in the dark trying to bump into something that'll work. i'm kind of hoping that we're getting closer, though.

a long pause as he probably reviews all of this like ???? ]
the eudora's AI, huh...
god these never get any easier to
i guess remember? it's hard to really figure out the right wording for it.
ask away and i'll see what i can do for you. you want to see if maybe the AI is involved in this..?

okay, she SHOULDN'T be acting on her own
and there's no way to really tell if she's being manipulated by an outside force?
