[ they wave their hand over the galley door's lock and boom we are in. it's modern as hell, with long counters, an enormous kitchen island, fridge, cryo freezer, and cabinets galore. they'll guide the hover pallet in and then gesture for mizuki to join them.

this kitchen promises flavorful meals if you make them yourself. ]

Most of it is produce, the dried goods are for the most part still plentiful. [ nudging open the refrigerator. ] Do you cook, Mizuki?

[ it's true real science shit. they just start unpacking the crates one by one and sorting them. with their running blade leg, they slide one of the crates over to the cryo freezer. ]

Well, if you want, you're more than welcome to galley access. I can give that to you - as you all will have time to yourselves between our delivery routes.

[ Maybe she oughta start picking these up, too... With a slight grunt and a furrow of her brow, Mizuki assists in getting the crates off the cart. ]

Not a bad idea. As nice as the generosity of others is, it'd be nice to handle it myself if it comes down to it.

[ that's the job, baybeeee lift! it looks like io is sorting them: things that must go in the fridge, things that should be in the freezer, and any dried goods/spices/herbs to go in the cabinets! ]

Then after this, once my hands aren't full, I'll get you the access. Doesn't hurt.

One other thing first, actually—as our medical specialist person, uh... Just how much can being out in space in a ship like this affect someone's body?

Well, with the nanites, that shouldn't be a problem. They'll help keep your bone mass from deteriorating - along with regular exercise. But even without, they'll do the trick for people who aren't able to be quite as active.

Occasionally there are some side effects from the... [ squint ] "cosmoelectromagnetic" waves, but nothing dangerous.

I believe they "got me" as well.

[ though their emotions are quite muted, like through thick mud, there is a mild annoyance there. ]

It can be a little jarring, unfortunately. But they will pass in time. Hopefully if it's anything like our last trip.

My usual strength is all gone, and I have no idea if that's 'cause of space vibes.

The nanites have the tendency to suppress that which they assume is "abnormal." Things that may be normal to you or I, things we are born with, are marked and then made dormant for a time.

I don't know too much about how the nanites themselves work or what sort of technology they deal in... I work with the physical body, natural systems more.

Aside from the whole... contract mix-up thing, it doesn't seem like a pretty bad gig so far. The accommodations are decent, and I mean—space is pretty cool. Buuut I am curious about what the pay's like...
