it was under construction for some remodeling, since the padding needed replaced and we got better storage for all of our gear. it's just in an area that hasn't opened up for you guys yet.

it's not too crazy, but then again i'm used to combat simulations (outside of the sim/grav rooms here i mean) i can meet you there! there's plenty of room if you move the yoga mats.

I don't think we've had too much time to do training, considering the whole mess with you guys getting here and then the ship going haywire on Wednesday. [ and the deaths, but, yk. ] It'll be good to loosen up.

I think we have some punch pads in here from the old kwoon room... hang on... [ they start going through the rec room supplies, leaning up on their toes to look at the top of a shelf. they're not short so this does actually help them as they let out an ah ha and bring it down. ] Excellent, here we go.

Ah-ha! Good idea—definitely gonna need those.

[ they are teasing. but also in a way that says they mean this, they're sure she can hit pretty hard. ]

[ sliding the pads onto their hands, getting them secured. ]

You can hit my right hand as hard as you want, though - not sure if Shoma told you or not about it.

Yeah - padding on that side's more for your fist than it is my hand, but better safe than sorry.

[ they'll show her after she punches at them. but will assume a solid stance so if she does hit harder than anticipated, they won't go tumbling over. ]

[ She assumes a stance too, briefly studying him, then—she swings. It's a solid throw, and pretty hard; it's evident she's been doing this martial arts thing for a long time now, in both form and force. ]

Oof - [ they felt that. it's not nearly as strong as she normally is, but she already knows that. there is a nod though. ] That was pretty good! You pack a punch, don't you?

[ Barely a fraction of it. For all that she put into that, Mizuki pulls back looking disappointed by the results. ]

Not to be a downer, but—man, that felt like nothing.

That bad, huh? [ lowering their hands and looking down at the punch pads. ] The nerf really does take a lot of the oomph out of things.

Literally. [ While rolling out her hand, ] Buuuut... I'll take it that was hard enough, huh? So long as I'm not a total wet noodle now.

Al dente, maybe. [ teasing ] It was hard enough, yeah, you still hit pretty hard. So your hard work's not all gone.

And not forever, either. Then how about a few rounds? Won't even have to worry about me breaking anything.

Why not? It'll help keep you fit and active - better to stay on top of your workouts while you're in space. The shift in gravity, even in a gravity controlled setting like the Eudora, can be hell on a body if you're lazy.

[ they do toss one punch pad aside, keeping the other on their prosthetic right just in case for now. ]
