[ they will let baiken say she is fine, but they still give her the flattest little stink eye like "okay sure lie to my face." but they pause a moment as they slowly slowly sit up. son stretches out of their lap and goes to curl up on the other end of the couch. as thebe moves, they kind of shuffle their jacket off and twist slightly, pulling their hair over their shoulder. at this angle, there's a brief glimpse of metal at their nape, surrounded by scar tissue, dipping down into the back of their shirt. ] It's my implant. Doesn't like the cold... and didn't like the turbulence our shuttle went through when I was piloting. Acting up.

[ otherwise, she doesn't react. okay maybe a little, but as we all know by now, baiken isn't the most animated person. the surprise and intrigue are visibly brief. ]

BUT OH WELL. anyways, they feel like baiken is the type to keep suitably quiet about shit. and maybe they're being irresponsible, but they're hurt and it's thursday and they're tired and they like baiken in a way bartenders become fond of frequent fliers. they become part of the scenery, the every day. they carve a niche. they chug their beer for a hot minute before wiping their mouth on the back of their hand. ] I like this place the best.

[ they hold out their lighter for her if she needs a light. as they do so, the cat just kind of lifts its head to sleepily look at baiken and hops off the couch on the other side to go and just strut right across hers. unafraid. what's up? ] Son, don't be too nosy...

[ she accepts the offer - boy does that make things easier - and reclines back onto the couch as she inhales. she watches idly as son does son things. ]

[ it is really just a cat prowling in close. he is well-fed and sleek, and just kind of leans in the way cats do to sniff sniff sniff. probably leaning back then because smoky. ] He's my cat. From home.

Fore, huh? Interesting. [ if only because it's like "four" and she is very japanese, guilty gear cannot leave you alone with how japanese she is. ]
