help son is suck a good name for a cat. there is instantly a burst of like !! because she is a sucker for animals, but she doesn't come closer even though she wants to.]
[ thebe seems fine with this as they continue to tab through their list. son gets up and stretches his leggies, back arching before making a little "mrrp?" noise. ]
He gets a little mouthy sometimes, but he's my whole world.
Son's pretty special, he kinda gained his own voice a while after I rescued him. He's been with me since he was a kitten.
[ thebe reaches to just rub his head a bit before glancing at her. ]
I know this week feels pretty invasive, so I'm sorry... but you can pet him if you really do want to. He's pretty chill. [ as son just purrs and sits up the way cats do when they see a person sometimes. just purrrrrrrr. ]
[oh, she. startles, a little at that. she's still not used to people reading her whole... deal, but. it doesn't bother her as much as it might bother other people. she has trouble expressing herself and her wants a lot and it's no tragedy to have someone be able to easily decipher what she means.
so. son purrs, and she moves forward. carefully, she crouches down in front of him, and offers her hand for him to sniff.]
[ sometimes it's hard to words. that's fine. thebe's visor goes dark and son just crawls forward a little more, doing the ooh big stretch motion and then sniffs at hand.

He's pretty friendly as long as he isn't overwhelmed by people.
... Mm. It's easy to not realize that sort of person is necessary. [there's a blip of a thought that's basically just like i'm glad temenos is here and then:] Not a fan of crowds?
No, I like smaller groups. I used to tend a hole-in-the-wall bar back home... so a group this big is different for me. Sometimes I need to recharge my customer service smile.
[ this room is full of murky love for son. thebe just pats his butt. it elevators. ]
Usually there are plenty places to get away to... this feels a little claustrophobic by comparison. I'm not used to it all being shut away.
I used to hide in the bar for a little extra quiet. Just me and the auto-bartender. Now it's hopping, though. [ this doesn't seem like a bad thing to them. just an observation. ]

[ our soft deep far off sensations.
the blob is........ a cat! ]
This is my Son. That's his name.
[ they don't try and disturb the cat, but cat already seems curious at the sound of his name, lifting his little head up to yawn with a pink mouth full of little white knives (they're just teeth.) he looks at throné and then, a little voice as he proceeds to just lick himself. ]
I'm a hard worker too!

the desire to Pet Kitty is intensifying.]
I... I'm not sure that I've run into a cat that can speak before. [is his mouth like, moving? when he talks? or is it more like a telepathic thing?]
How long have you been with him?
no subject
[ he's mr. good boy, mr. little lad, the best son you ever haaaad.
and no his mouth isn't moving. and throné isn't hearing it in her head like maybe telepathy would evoke. it's heard with the Ears. ]

anyway, she excitedly scritches at the kitty!! she actually just goes ahead and kneels down instead so she can love on him. gently. pet pet pet.]
... Sounds familiar. [she says, a little wryly.]

I can relate... sometimes I just want to be somewhere quiet. Son's a real good listener, but he's also very good at just being.
[ son is very happy and does the thing where the cat leans too far into the scritches so he wobbles but then catches himself. ]

Son does too. But he really seems to like you...

I like him as well.
[glancing up at them.]
... But I understand that. There is something about a crowd that can be useful, but I prefer the silence.

Are you not allowed to see the other parts of the ship? [curious...] Someone told me there was more to this than just the rooms available to us.
no subject
But there are plenty of places behind each gate. It's just a matter of opening them more carefully so that the ship doesn't act up.
