Say, what do you have in the way of defenses? I'm not familiar with ships like this, but call me curious.

That depends on whether you're asking about our defenses internal or external. Callisto mostly handles the weaponry themselves, I deal more directly in handling them if a crisis occurs.

They did mention the weapons. So does that make you the 'sentient body recommended for supervision'? Or more the one giving orders to those bodies?

If a time comes when we need to act, I'll be the one to take charge and ensure the safety of everyone while also defending the ship.

Nothing I cannot handle.

No. Since being stationed here, we have not had such situations arise.

How long have you been stationed here? A while?

Three months total. That applies to all eight of us in the Senior Crew.

You ever work together before getting this assignment? Or are you all new to each other?

We began on a tour together here on the Eudora as a Junior Crew much like you and everyone else that has arrived. Before that, no.

Makes sense. So if you've been here three months, you've had time for a run with another junior crew, right? Did you? Or was that training, and we're your first batch of problem children?

You are the first batch we've received.

Lucky you, getting stuck with all the contract issues on your first job. At least after the start we've had every group after us is gonna be easy.

It hardly matters much to me. Work is work in the end. Whether you all want to contribute while you're here or not, that is your decision.

Eh? You're not gonna try and talk us into it if we don't?

Why should we? Our purpose is simply to oversee. Either you work and get paid for it, or you don't work and stick around until the tour concludes.

Well, fair, I guess. I'm a little more used to there being less choice in the matter.
