You can hear it:
A distant beeping noise that pierces the deep sleep that has swallowed you. A mechanical humming sound joins it, and a viscous liquid drains from around your body. A clear breathing mask removes itself from your mouth and nose, allowing you to breathe in deeply on your own. Chill, sterile air will fill your lungs, and if you open your eyes, you will see words and numbers slowly scrolling upwards on the glass panel in front of your face. As your eyes focus, you'll be able to discern that it's a whole bunch of information all about you, tracking your heartbeat, your oxygen levels, and more.
Should your pulse spike with the sensory barrage, you'll see the monitors on the glass turn off, as though registering that its contents have come-to. A pneumatic hiss of the locks on your wet glass coffin releases you, revealing that you seem to be...
Actually.
Where the hell are you?

Spacecoast is a short-term murder mystery game where characters will find themselves unwillingly conscripted into employment with Nut & Bolt co., an intergalactic delivery company that travels through the far reaches of space. Characters will arrive with only the clothes on their back and one item from home on their person, and will have to hit the ground running when it comes to learning all about their new job as parcel passers for the great expanse of the universe. If you want to get back home, after all, you'll have to finish the spring tour.

GAMEPLAY
This game is loosely based on the Mafia party game, though we will be changing a few things as necessary for this game's particular play style. Every week, characters will find themselves facing various new challeneges in the form of adapting to their new home, learning more about the Eudora, and surveying the various drop off planets they'll be traveling to. Unfortunately, every week at least one character will be murdered.
While the traditional Mafia style has a set group of killers, we will be operating with a rotating mafia system. What this means is that each week at least one character will be RNG'd as the killer. Characters are tasked with gathering together and finding the culprit in order to solve the mystery of that week.

SCHEDULE
Our schedule will operate as follows:
πγMonday @ 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST γ β Weekly Mingle.
Each Monday will begin with a weekly mingle for characters. Much like games in the past, there will be new things to do each week for characters to interact with the setting. In addition, during the week, other adventures will take place based on player action and mod scheduling. We will notify players in advance should this occur.
πγWednesday @ 3 PM EST / 12 PM PST γ β Weekly Mini-event.
A mini-event will be hosted every Wednesday for players, providing them with a variety of ways to interact with a brand new setting for a limited period of time. Along with this, they will earn some perks for their future ventures, so it is advised that you keep your eyes peeled. Unless otherwise noted, we will be adhering to the two-parter style mini-event style with part 2 posted later in the day.
πγThursday @ 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST γ β Curfew.
On Thursday morning, we will unscreen the weekly curfew toplevel for players to reply with their curfew status for the week! This is the time to tell your mods where your character will be staying during the hours kills may occur. For the purpose of this game, we do ask that players submit their curfew no later than 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST. If you are not able to submit a comment yourself during those hours due to work, etc, we will also allow players to include other characters in their comment. For example, if player B canβt submit their comment but plans to spend curfew with player A, player A may submit a comment stating: "A & B will be in X!" We do not accept late curfew posts, and if you are late, you will automatically be delegated to your bunk for the night! More information will be available once the curfew mechanic kicks in.
πγFriday @ 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST γ β Body announcement.
Borrowing from past games, Friday will be body announcement day. Characters will learn the name(s) of the victim(s) for the week. We will not be hosting a traditional investigation on these days.
πγSaturday @ 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST γ β Trial.
Weβre sure youβll all be very shocked to learn that Saturday is Trial Day! All characters will be required to attend ICly and we do ask that players are available for these days. If you need to miss a trial, please let us know as soon as you know/least 48 hours in advance so we may plan accordingly!
Trials will begin at 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST and will end at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST unless stated otherwise. A one hour break will also take place at 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST for players to step away for lunch/dinner, and for mod tags to pause. ICly characters will not be able to leave the trial unless ICly dismissed early.
Since we are not hosting investigations on Fridays, trial days will also be the time characters can begin to explore the setting to look for clues, test theories, and start to piece together the crime committed in order to narrow choices down to a potential culprit. IC voting will also be live at the start of the trial and close immediately at the end. Once the vote is closed, we will announce the party with the majority of votes. Not voting will result in your character being removed from the game, aka killed off. If you are unable to vote by the time of trial end for whatever reason, please flag the mods down as early as possible!
πγSunday @ 1 PM EST / 10 AM PST γ β Execution.
Sundays will be execution day! This is the day in which a selected party will come forward to execute the character with the majority of votes. Executions are ICly mandatory, and will begin at 1 PM EST / 10 AM PST unless otherwise announced.
This cycle repeats until we hit an ending to the game!

THE USUAL FAQ
πͺ What is the pacing of the game?
Our game will be running on a 1:1 schedule and functioning on EST/PST, with time converted for multiple timezones. Please refer to the above timeline for when important posts will go up.
πͺ Do I have to be present for every trial? If something comes up and you are unable to be present for a trial, please let us know in advance! We prefer 48 hours in advance (minimum 24 unless it's an emergency), but if you come to us really early before the trial starts or in the first hour of the trial we will be a bit lenient. If you do not let us know in advance, you will be killed off in-game.
πͺ How long will the game last?Spacecoast is intended to be an 8 week long game at most, but at minimum a 6 week run. Should a player need to leave the game prior to endgame, please speak with the mod team and we will discuss the next steps with you.
πͺ If I die early what happens next?We will have a graveyard for characters to continue playing in and participating in! You can do open threads on the main graveyard post, or you may have private conversations with other dead characters. In addition, characters in the graveyard will be presented with opportunities the living side does not have access to.
πͺ Private conversations?Private conversations! Sometimes your character (or a group of characters) will want to get together with people to spend time together or share information or whatever. This would become a private conversation that isn't shared with the game at large. Please check out the private conversations page for information on how to set up journal filters and more.
πͺ How active do I have to be?We like to see that players are participating either via weekly mingles, private threads, or both in addition to participation in trials! The game functions best when all players are active and engaging, so please keep this in mind when apping in! We ask that your time be managed well.
Additionally if you have a role, we will ask for a little extra higher activity to be around for coordination purposes, etc.
πͺ How do I contact the mod team for any questions/concerns/murder plans?Discord is the most effective method for all of your mods, and our Discord handles will be available in the group server. Additionally, don't forget to make a groupchat with your mods: Char, Hei, Snow, and Zetsu! It's the best way to get in contact with us as a whole for anything you need.

RULES
π¦ Rule 1: Please be nice!
This is a game specifically created with the intention of all of our friends playing together in a fun environment, so we would really love for our friends to treat each other well. Please remember that IC =/= OOC and while murdergames can be competitive we ask that everyone treats everyone else with respect.
π¦ Rule 2: Please be active! Yes, we've said it like six times in this page alone but this is a Very Big Thing!
π¦ Rule 3: Please keep your roles a secret!Over the course of the game, characters may end up ICly sharing their roles with each other if it comes up in conversation, but we ask that OOCly you do not share your role(s) with other people without asking permission from your mods.
π¦ Rule 4: Keep in mind that this is a murdergame! Which means your character is just as likely to die as the next! Whether that's in week one or week six, if your character is chosen to be a victim that week they will be sent to the chopping block. However, we will have other things for the dead to do.
π¦ Rule 5: At this time, canon powers/abilities are nerfed! While your character may be the strongest most powerful person in their canon it will not mean much here. Oops.
π¦ Rule 6: Finally, if at any time you have concerns or feel uncomfortable about something in-game...Please contact us! As this is a game of our friends, we hope that you guys will come talk to us immediately so that we can get things straightened out and help where we can. Please do not feel as though any concern is too small or insignificant. As mods, we're here to help make everyone feel welcome and have a good time.
