There was a man who acquired the estate and the staff with it. It was the era of the Rose Manor, they called it. [ Their vibe is endeared or tickled, but emotions convey maybe a fourth of that. ] I'd say that is where my memory is clearest and onward. Before then, I remember... Waiting.

I suppose people thought the estate to be abandoned... It isn't uncommon for man to take what they want if it's there for the taking. Sometimes, even if it isn't there for the taking. Coveting is what they're wont to do.

There's a tale that the manor brings tragedy to all of its residents. I wonder if similar stories can be found in the galaxy. I also wonder how much truth is there in it.

I did see unfortunate events play, but at the time I had thought staying there would be best. My master could have returned at any moment, you see.

Since you are not questioning it, does this mean you believe in curses?

[egodist]

Not in the slightest, but I don't have enough information about your world to affirm or deny. In my own, I don't believe in magic. In others, I still believe there is some scientific explanation but I won't argue against someone's experience.

[like if the whole world calls it magic and scien's never been there, who is he to override them without proof]

The church often talked about curses of the devil and sent crusades to exterminate heretics. I would say that my mind is open to the possibility, curse or fate.

It could still be explained by science, most likely, unless you know for certain that magic exists within your realm.

I wonder how anyone goes about proving the supernatural and unknown if it isn't the foundation of life itself. Such powers could be withheld from the masses, couldn't it? Power that could change the world fastened behind a gate... Wielded by a small few. Knowledge is not too different.

In my world, there is no god. Only human wisdom. To the point that even what I know firmly to be my own creation born from science is mistaken for miracles, and I'm revered as a savior and deity.

[there is an arrogance to this statement, as if he's gotten used to it as fact. however he doesn't seem particularly pleased with his own moniker. the dissonance between a man who became god, who has no interest in the heavens.]

So no, I can't say that I truly believe in the divine when supposedly I am the closest thing to it.
