I don't think he's going to kill me... [ But what's going to happen. ] Since he's working with everyone to bring us back and it looks like he's sticking to it, we should be fine when we return to everyone.
[ To be honest, it'd also be fine with him if they distrusted him. ]
... He's volatile and quick to act, so of course I'm worried about people poking him too much. Killing people is kind of a whim for him and he has a little of a superiority complex. It's hard to predict.
[ So Vash's response is to be nervous and stressed whenever Knives is brought up. ]
...Yeah. I agree with you. Not that I know him as well as you do, but some of us haven't been cautious enough in how they handle him.
[so. stress.]
I have fun messing with people who are grumps and take themselves too seriously, too, but I'd like to think I know when something is actually dangerous. Any advice on how to avoid problems?
Some of you kind of just have a way of talking where I think the advice would be not to interact with him at all. Most of you guys are nice, though! Which helps.
[ knives is just a feral kitty-pet who's overcompensating ]
Oh, man. It's a little fun, isn't it? When they riled up, it's super funny. [ He gets it. ] I think as long as you don't imply you're above him in how you word things, it should be okay.
Something happened when we were kids... I think it still haunts him and it doesn't help that humans are draining our sisters of all their energy so they can survive. [ Plays another note. ] They're just trying to live on an inhabitable planet... I've received more kindness from humans than I deserved.
Aww. [she will continue to try to play along with him while he talks.] I kinda think humans are just like anyone else. Some of them are assholes and some aren't. And especially when a lot of humans get together and make power structures, that's where we get into dark things like draining someone of their energy.
[the sisters thing just makes her think of corporate entities. like uftp, which will extract resources from whatever planet it wants without caring about the inhabitants.]
But I don't see why you think you didn't deserve that kindness.
Right! My brother has a hard time seeing the good in them, even though our guardian—she loved us... [ And it's obvious that Vash loved her back. ] They're just trying to survive. Sometimes they get violent and I step in to stop that.
[ no killing!! power structures are also so dangerous. He keeps playing the keys, going quiet. ]
[she doesn't sound skeptical or anything. things happen. she doesn't know the details of this, but she won't assume it wasn't bad, though he doesn't make it sound intentional, either.]
Even so. I meant that more as like... I don't think anybody doesn't "deserve" kindness, you know? The universe is big and filled with some real assholes, but if someone hasn't screwed you over in particular yet then I think that's kind of the baseline of how to treat people.

[but yes, she wants to ask about that.]
Maybe? What do you think is going to happen?

If he tries anything, I can handle it.

It just seems like it might be a good idea for us to know specifically what the risk is, and you're avoiding telling us on purpose.

[just trying to get that out there before he gets the wrong idea about her questions.]
It just worries me because you seem worried about him, but I don't know much more other than his general dislike of humans.

Well, I don't believe that I am above him, but that can certainly be a subjective thing. Still, that's good to keep in mind.
...I guess you've had some bad experiences with humans?

[ Hmm. ]

Some things happened and I hurt a lot of people.
