Haha, as I've heard it is to help keep employees' stress levels low. Small ships are prone to pushing them to feeling cooped up and restless as I've heard it. Causing tension between one another. Though, I truly would not be surprised if Nut & Bolt considered other branches outside their delivery and task services.
It was one thing to simply look at the nanites under the day by day, so we considered also observing the nanite's behavior during a lockdown sequence. If there will be a notable behavior sign or anything to imply they may be affected. We took from my sample, another Senior's and even one from your Junior Crew - nothing came out of it.
