[ ganymede will come and meet her at the observation lounge, today, tablet under their arm and jacket returned from where they hadn't been wearing it on saturday. ]
Hey there, Margaret. I know you've had your weeklies with some of us so far, so is there anything you wanted to discuss with me in particular that you hadn't talked to them over yet?
[ a firm shake in return, before sitting opposite her. ]
Io gave us a debrief on what they were able to uncover after looking him over.
In the end, Luke's death was caused by a combination of factors. [ they take their tablet and tap at it, until they can get the file that they want. ] He was sick from the start, and the company never informed us about this, leaving us without any sort of window to perform any treatment. This, alongside a massive surge of stress overloaded already deteriorating systems - panic, anxiety, and pain likely exacerbated the condition, along with the possibility of having gone through multiple space jumps before arrival on board the Eudora. Typically, we'd have had the medbay available from the start, but the ship's lockdown made it impossible to get everything up and running all at once.
We're not really sure that it would have benefited him, though, considering how quickly his condition turned. The nanites also made an attempt at recovery, which we think they'd likely been trying to do since his arrival.
Understood. He was feeling sicker as the week went on. I do wonder if the malfunctions on Thursday didn't exacerbate his condition in some way? But he also tried breaking down the door, so...
[that's an explanation as much as anything.]
What was the cause of death specifically? Heart failure?
It might have. [ the lockdown, they mean, and there's a frown in their synthesized voice as they look down a the tablet. ] Physical exertion when already in such a state, with factors making it worse, could have been the final straw that broke the camel's back so to speak.
But it was reminiscent of a heart attack, yeah. We're not familiar with his illness, but Io's going to continue looking into the data that was compiled in case someone where Luke's from might need more information about it.
I am, too. I wish he'd told us at least a little about it, or maybe asked Io for more than just painkillers. That doesn't really tell us a lot, just that maybe he was adjusting after cryostasis.
He was a nice guy, and it was very alarming for everyone to have to see that. I'm still worried something else aggravated his condition, but I don't see what we can do about it.
You're keeping them all in cryo so we can return their bodies home?

[she'll reach out to shake hands, but then grab a seat.]
Have we made any headway on understanding what happened to Luke?
