I had initially been in hydroponics, but my peer that worked for communications chose to resign after the last tour and now I have these two positions until Nut & Bolt hires someone for the job... I do agree it is a strange pair of titles.
That is correct. In the last tour, we were part of another crew. With people wishing to further develop their career, they take other responsibilities and are reassigned a ship to prove their mettle. Some who have worked years with Nut & Bolt retire or are on a vacation.
[ Their shoulders drop, like they let out a deep exhale, as they raise their hand to rest their cheek on the palm. They muse. ]
I wonder if those who were reassigned have an easier time managing their ship... The Eudora is an older model.
It is frustrating. We had all petitioned for a newer model before onboarding, but the promise is next tour. Their reasoning is that the ship still has a lot of live and miles to traverse the stars safely, but I'd argue the ship is not only made of its hull and engine.

The glitches so far are just inconvenient, but the contract mix-up is pretty worrying. I have to admit that it is frustrating for a lot of the crew to find ourselves proceeding as normal with the mission with no recollection of signing up. I get that the options are limited, but...
I suppose if this is Nut & Bolt's downfall, then I will be sent back unless another intergalactic company contracts me.
