okay you guys canNOT tell me that was just a bug in the system. diagnostics...? how long are those shields going to be up?
amalthea's written up an explanation that i'm going to share with you - sorry, we're in and out as we try to figure out what the hell is going on. the shields are up until tomorrow, either because we've gotten an answer of what happened to dahut or because we're going to be roping in you guys. io's going to be trying to figure out what happened to mr. pearce, because his death happened before we were all unconscious and dahut's was after. we don't have a protocol for this so we're flying by the seat of our pants right now.
Normally, Nut & Bolt ships will start a lockdown to scan for abnormalities during a lengthy space jump. Abnormalities are rare, but scans are necessary. The lockdown itself keeps certain features online, some stay offline to siphon energy to necessary parts. Lockdown lasts until the morning of the next day and can be prolonged with full permissions.
The one we had experienced is not the norm. It was unscheduled and we did not make a space jump. Through deduction, it means that it was a malfunction or that there was an abnormality found within the ship.
While we were stuck in different areas without communication, we attempted an override command, but it had failed. It would seem that two met their demise sometime between the lockdown and when we all woke up from being incapacitated. It is normally meant to sedate the threat. Senior crew are incapacitated later and wake earlier than junior crew, so they are expected to incarcerate or expel it.
For now, we have ejected everyone who had stayed in suspicious areas, then locked those areas to preserve the scene with cryofreeze to investigate later. The shields will prevent any warmth or heat from interacting with anything found within.
...well some of this i saw for myself so it's believable a few people mentioned luke died before we all fell unconscious some people have mentioned dahut didn't look great either earlier this week what does..."roping us in" mean in this case?
it means people have stepped forward wanting to find out what happened, and because this HASN'T happened before, we're going to try and organize something according to what protocols we do have in place for emergencies so that we can get answers. investigations and examining what we can find. it won't hurt to have fresh eyes on this when we've been pouring over everything we can since this morning.
...unsurprising. no different than home people aren't going to be happy about this. hope you guys are prepared for that but i bet people want to find out answers more than be angry so we'll do what we can what can we do until then?
honestly, i would be more surprised if people weren't upset. they were both good people. and even if they weren't, they'd still deserve answers for what happened here. so, we'll find them. all of us.
you can spread what information we do have to anyone that might need it, for right now. keep an eye on things if you're walking around the ship in case something stands out to you while everything is locked down. take care of yourselves.
i plan to if people will listen at least it's worth getting everyone as up to date as we can but will do ...and thanks for the jacket i'll give it back later
thanks, shoma. i know things are a mess right now, so i won't ask for any faith in us. from you or from any of the others. all things considered. but we'll do something to get everyone together to either start a full investigation with all hands on deck, or announce everything for transparency.
i get a feeling we don't really have much of a choice now but that'll be a decision for everyone else tentatively...i believe you want to solve this and didn't know this would happen so that's what i'm gonna act on but i appreciate the transparency and answering at all
