air, water, and power fall under the umbrella of life support, though i usually add in gravity controls as well just because we can't really do a lot of things WITHOUT it.
yeah that's the best way to handle it automated systems are great if you built them yourselves but with something built into a bigger machine it needs constant work ...mind if i take a look? i'm curious
[ not me just noticing that i switched proper syntax and lapselock pretend the starter was lapselock. ]
being a big ship, too, the automated systems might skip over something. i think that's part of what caused the issues, actually, that happened yesterday. we managed to catch some and get the debug process started, but some wound up hidden in the process.
but sure! i usually spend a lot of time in the deck and lounge - we can meet there or somewhere else, if you want.
exactly. i'm all for automation but there's still too much room for error i'm good with the deck i've been spending a lot of time there too lately
[ and he will go! he is venturing to the deck and roboji is rolling along behind him. everyone should be so proud of him for being so brave in bothering to talk to people. so brave. ]
[ we will neither confirm nor deny which mod you're tagging in w0. ]
and with the errors we've already had, it's really better to manually handle everything if we can. i'll see you there then!
[ shoma is the biggest and bravest boy in the whole wide world. we are so proud of him. ganymede is seated on a bench at the big ol windows waiting to reward him with conversation even. ]
[ oh. they actually showed up. wait, why is he surprised? shoma, come on. but he walks closer as roboji follows, and he stops on the side to the bench to also look out the windows. ]
[ ganymede's vibes are chill and good, in that muted way the NPCs have, because it isn't friday or saturday. but also why are you surprised you weirdo. ]
Well, if you're asking me - the answer's always yes. Space is amazing like that. Always something interesting to see.
[ gazes in all of the issues shoma has with people and looks away. let's focus on chill vibes because people are still alive! ]
That's true even if you've seen it for a while now? [ blip of curiosity. the thing is, and shoma has acknowledged this to himself and a few others, this kind of ship and traveling through space would be right up his alley if it weren't so sketchy about how they got here. so yeah. he can agree space is amazing, but he likes hearing thoughts. ]
Even now. The vastness of space just means so much potential, and so much to be explored and known. There's civilizations out there that we could only ever dream of. [ something light sits in their emotions, buoyant over the murky, muted waters. awed. ] We could travel hundreds of galaxies aboard the Eudora, skip across them like rocks on water and just as fast, and we still wouldn't be able to touch even a fraction of the ones out there.
It can be terrifying, and dangerous, the same as anything else can be if you aren't careful. But it's beautiful and inspiring, too.
[ when they describe space like that, something seems to settle in shoma's emotions. because...yeah. that's the kind of thing he always imagined space would be like. he's a robots nerd, not really a space and science nerd, but they're all under the same umbrella.
that, and it's...nice, he thinks, to think that there's so much out there where maybe things would be different. ]
Is that part of why you're still with the Eudora? Getting to see more of these places and stuff.
[ even if it can't be seen, between their distant emotions and the synthesizer in the helmet, there's a smile in their voice. ]
It is. I grew up wanting to travel space, just like the first astronauts on the moon. But I wanted to go farther, to see what else was out there, and... here we are.
That's probably a good thing. [ ... ] I kind of wish we had that option before we woke up here. But if we can really return right to when we left, maybe it doesn't matter.
How are you going to know when it feels like everything's done? Aren't you worried about that bar changing?
It might not. [ matter, they mean. they're reserving judgement for the possibility of that being legit or not. optimistic, not naive. ]
I'm not sure. Maybe after the spring tour is over I'll take a break. That's what Keith was saying I should do - head back home, take a vacation. God knows I have enough PTO.
I mean if home's a place you want to go and haven't been for a while...why not? Nothing says you can't come back to the Eudora again if that's what you really want to do. But maybe going home will change your mind anyway.
Nothing quite like home, right? [ something wistful in their autotune, and their emotions, since this is w0 thread. ] It'd be worth doing, I think, at least to see how I feel. A Nut & Bolt contract can last for as long as you've signed on for, so once that's up... sure. Think I might.
[ there's a thin smile but he does not verbally agree, though there's a faint twist of something like deep-seated grief that fades immediately. ]
Call it something to look forward to then. But for now...we have a tour. I'm still not entirely sure why any of us would willingly sign up for something like this, but so far everything seems quiet.
[ it helps that no one is dead yet at the time of this thread. ]

okay that makes the most sense to check over that part first
how're you even checking? running a program?
[ he's nosy about what kind of technology exists, and how it can be altered and read. don't mind him. ]

a lot of it can be automated, but i personally prefer to run through them myself. especially after the shock to her system with the upgrade she got.
[ they do not seem to mind, honestly. ]
