[ hello. welcome to ballroom. we really appreciate you coming!! the doors are locked and the whole gang's here. "including baiken?" yeah! senior crew as well.

the current set-up of this ballroom seems to have been split off into three separate spaces.

the first space is the party space! it…weirdly looks like what you'd almost expect from a high school prom? it's fancy decor, beautiful decorations, and all of the food and drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) you could ever want. somehow there's a purikura booth set up as well for some cute photo ops, and there are plenty of tables, chairs, and floor space for anyone who wants to dance or play party games with your friends. we have an hour, go nuts.

the second space is a little less intensive, decorated with beanbag chairs and couches. a large projection screen is on the wall to stream movies, and there are a few library books for your perusal, along with some board games. this is the zone for those looking for something a little more chill.

finally, there is a cute little glamping set-up (not entirely photo accurate) with mattresses, blankets, and pillows. you may have to share a bed with a friend, but it's better than the floor, right? stake your claim and get cozy. we're in for a long night. ]

Yep... I mean, I thought anything could probably backfire on Aiba, but I wasn't expecting to get bitchslapped by a hostile AI along the way, too.

You mean the same AI that's been able to move us around the ship against our will whenever it wants? [ he's not even saying this to one-up her, he's just pointing this out. ] It doesn't matter, at least you're like. Conscious again.

It was like... I don't know, getting short circuited along with her? It was just weird, okay!

Okay, okay! [ jeeze. ] Sorry I asked, I guess.

No, it's just... I've never had that happen to me before, that's all.

First time for everything. [ but...sigh. ] You know what you're up against so if you guys go back in you can get a better idea and pull out before it short-circuits both of you. That's at least one plus side. But give it another couple of days.

[ she flicks an ear ]

Provided there is any warning, at least. It came rather suddenly.

[ glances as hamham. ]

Could you tell where it was coming from at all? Or was it like suddenly it happened and then disappeared just as fast?

Unfortunately, no. One moment I was searching through the network, and in the next, it was as if a door suddenly slammed right into my face.

Hm...[ that's not. great. ] There has to be a way to get back in and circumvent the ship's security, but...we're also dealing with a ship whose AI is constantly revolving around us.

Or, at the very least, obscure our presence. Getting in was hardly a problem—at least for someone such as myself. But we would need some way to go undetected...

Yeah, I never doubted you're good at what you do. [ patpat. ] ...sounds like another brainstorming session with Shiro another day. Maybe Yelan could help, too.

[ our senior crew has names now. ]

Yeah... I'll have to see what they think later on. We don't have a lot of time left, so we'll have to think of something quick.

Might be another weekend project. [ their window of time is small. ] Keep me posted on what you decide to do, okay? It's not exactly my area of expertise but I'll try to think on it, too.
